STRENGTHENING JATI IDENTITY
The “Jati Identity” Debate that has begun in DV on the Editor’s novel thesis: “Strengthen every Jati, Brahminism will be dead”, is going to be the Editor’s greatest contribution to the study of Indian society and history. Many small and smaller Jati’s have picked up your thesis and started experimenting with wonderful results. Just as a Bangalore Police Commissioner, Ko Danda Ramaiah, IPS, turned out to be a powerful leader of his tiny Backward Caste Yadava Jati and became a Member of the Lok Sabha now from Karnataka, half a dozen such minor Backward Castes have become “caste-conscious” by studying the Editor’s the- sis in Maharashtra.
Mischief of social scientists: And I will not be surprised if they too throw up many Ko Dandara manias.
The Editor’s thesis is going to change the course of Indian history.
“Strengthening every Jati identity to kill Brahminism” is his greatest and most original contribution giving a fresh, sharp teeth to Ambedkar’s.
A book on “Jati identity” is necessary as our upper caste social scientists have totally ignored this vital subject as it is detrimental to their Jati interests. will attend the Oct.5 seminar at Bangalore with some Dhangar (BC) leaders who are fascinated by your philosophy. The DV debate reveals that the opposition to your thesis has come only from a section of ‘Scheduled Castes (SCs) and not from the Backward Castes. This is because this section of SCs, opposing your thesis, is the beneficiaries of constitutional reservations whereas BCs are yet to enjoy such a privilege. Upper castes oppose Jati identity because their stomach is full. A section of SCs, which enjoyed reservation, is imitating these stomachfull upper castes in opposing the Jati identity. We must discuss all these at the Oct. 5 seminar.
