In your report of Aug. 16, ’97: *Handguides, militarised Thevar’s used to crush Tamil Dalits”, you have comment- ed on the “absence” of Dr. Krishnaswamy, MLA, our leader at the July 22, 1997 meeting of TN Dalit leaders convened by Dalit Echolalia, to Madras at your initiative. Your information is wrong. Dr. Krishnaswamy was not invited to the meeting. Nor was he aware of this meeting. Had he known about the meeting in which you would be present, he would have definitely come. Did he not say this to you when he talked to you on phone on the night of Aug.6 and expressed his regret for having not been informed of the meeting? He is a great admirer of DV and the Editor.
Now thar Dalit Eshelman was present beside Dr. Krishnasamy aft the Aug. rally and offered full support. it was clear that the differences if any between the Pariah’s and DKVs had been forgotten and that both sections had decided fool work fog ether and fight the Enemy together.
