This refers to the DV guest editorial of May 16, 2003 (“Goenka conspiracy to kill Budhism”) by Dr. K. Jamanadas. | take strong objection to it and call it a totally a false allegation. People, specially the Dalits, have made Dr. Ambedkar aligned to their narrow group and have thus made him a dwarf and Dalit leader. This towering personality was one of the greatest sons of India with multi-faceted personality.
Untimely death prevented him from propagating and reviving Budhism. Budha never preached any religion. He showed the right path to the masses. His eight-fold Path is the ideal way of life. This is learnt more by practice than reading books and having discussions. #lo one except the Bahiskrit Bharat accepted Budhism as an alternative religion. It is only S.N Goenka who ade the right interpretation of Budhism.
Goenka helped change the lifestyle of people as directed by Budha. Vipassana centres are contributing much more for social change than the Budha viharas which have become the only abode for kasay vastra dharis without any sucess.
