Wanted Resolution : Dalits are Indigenous People of India

We have set up a non-profit . human rights organisation devoted for the cause of Dalits (Untouchables) of India, Ontario, registration number 931114.

I shall appreciate if you could inform all Dalit brothers and sisters that I need a resolution passed from all parts of India saying that “Dalits are the indigenous peoples of India” and they support
wholeheartedly the stand taken on their behalf by Ambedkar Centre for Justice & Peace Inc., . Canada.
I feel very happy to inform you that finally we, the Dalit people o India, succeeded in re-
claiming our indigenous people’s status before the United Nations “Working Group on Indigenous Peoples” by submitting a testimony on behalf of our Dalit brothers and sisters on July 30 1991 at Geneva, Switzerland. (DV Oct. 11991 p.8)
Now, we have to proceed with the second phase in fulfilling our goal. We have to officially pass resolutions at all provincial levels of Dalit organizations that “we are the indigenous peoples of India” and the alien Aryan invaders brought us into this present-day socio-economic religious slavery to destroy our indigenous identity similar to the plight of indigenous peoples in the rest of the world.
Now, we have to tell the United Nations to recognize us as the Indigenous peoples of India and to bring us under the jurisdiction of this Committee for the protection, preservation, and enhancement of our identity, culture, and civilization of this vast mass of 200 million Dalits of India.
So, please pass the resolution that we wholeheartedly support the testimony submitted by Ambedkar Centre for Justice and Peace Inc. of Canada and I urge the UN for add us, the Dalit.
People of India, to the list of the Indigenous Peoples of the world. Also please publish this testimony along with your resolution in all newspapers and magazines, as far as possible.
And send me the copy of your resolution.
