Hyderabad: Thirty – two Dalits organisations from all over the country converged here on Sept. 16 and took out a procession to show their solidarity with Dalits at Sundar and protested against the inaction of the Andhra Pradesh Government in not arresting the “real” culprits responsible for killings in the same village. Gadhar, revolutionary folklore singer, Ram Vilas Paswan, MP and former Union Minister, and a number of Dalit leaders from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka participated. Gadhar led the procession along with Bojja Thar Akam.
The crowds were less than expected because the police detained several lorries and vehicles on the city outskirts. Among those who spoke were Messer’s M. Venkata swamy, Karnataka President of the Samatha Sainik Dal, Elumalai, Dalit leader from Tamil Nadu, Roshan Lal, MP from Uttar Pradesh, Prof. Jogendra Kawate from Nagpur, Syed Sajjad, MLA, MIM, M. Narsimha, MLA (Ind), N.V. Krishnaiah, CPI-ML MLA, Konda Lakshman Bapuji, P. — Sundaraja, Bahujan Samaj Party State president, J.B. Raju, General Secretary A.P.
