I am sure you have seen a front-page Bombay date- lined report in the Statesman, Delhi (Oct.9) “ISI Sponsors a terrorist link-up”.
It says a Sikh militant, Manjit Singh alias Lal Singh of the Khalistan Liberation Front, has “confessed” to the Bombay police and the CBI about “a pernicious liaison between a section of the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and several disruptive Sikh organisations forged by the Pakistan’s Inter-services Intelligence”.
The SIMI leaders allegedly involved belongs to its “national unity” and the Maharashtra SIMI unit chief Zamirul Hasan and others” protested against this and resigned after its Dec. 23-25, 91 Ikdame-Ummat conference in Bombay”, it says.
You have been saying that the ruling BSO no longer sends its chaddi party boys to attack us but employes the state machinery, police, intelligence agencies and military to crush the human rights of the persecuted nationalities. Is this report one such? As I know, SIMI is the country’s most revolutionary Muslim youth organisation not aligned with any international Muslim unit, particularly Pakistan. Will you be able to throw some light on this damaging report?
