I have been a proponent of DV for some time now. It has been a very enlightening journal to say the least. However, | have noticed a strong pro-Islamic focus to your journal for a few months now. | don’t think “religion” should get in the way of “ideclogy”. Muslims are generally proponents of the oppressed. They have more often than not been the oppressor. Since | am very much opposed to “religious propaganda and proselytizing, | wish not to be part of-the DV family anymore. Please don’t forward me any more of your pro-Islamic propaganda. | can’t think of anything Muslims have done for Blacks, except enslave them, murder them, deculturalize them, conquer them, and invade them. As an African, of course | can’t condone those acts. | am sorry you were “afraid” to publish my opinion on Muslims and Islam in DV, when you never had any problem publishing any of my other articles. You have shown your “true colors”. Historically the religion of Islam has not been tolerant or compassionate to others that have differing beliefs. There are exceptions to all rules of course, (Ai-Andalus maybe). Islam strives to convert so-called “unbelievers”, according to their very narrow view of what that means. This is also the source of their conflict with sufism and Maraboutism, which professes the belief in saints, holy men and others that have supernatural spiritual consciousness. Islamists want to impose sharia (Muslim law and cases/hadith) on non-believers. They also impose the Arabic language and culture. I am writing this in connection with the Dalit Voice campaign for Dalit-Muslim unity. Do Muslim only respect Muslim Dalits? Or can Dalits who believe in the matriarchal and other tribal system beliefs be accepted as brothers? Only then can they be brothers. They must realize that in India, Hindus have been the oppressor against all others and rally around that concept, not Islam.
