Marxist Support To Brahmins

Madras: A. Nallasivam, secretary of the TN unit of the CPI (M), on June 9 deplored what he termed as failure on the part of the police to take prompt and adequate measures against those denigrating the Brahmin community through posters and other means of propaganda. In a press statement. the Marxist leader said it was most regrettable that a section of DK volunteers was found indulging in violent & indecent activities in Puthur Agraharam on June 6. A similar incident took place at Valavanur Agraharam in South Arcot district on June 7 resulting in hospitalistion of three Brahmins, he said. (Hindu, June 10)
