DEBATE
DR. SHAMSUL HAQUE ALVI, UNIVERSITY OF BAHRAIN, BAHRAIN
Recently in the DV, I have found a lot of writeups about Jam ate-Islami (Hind). I am pained to see this sort of controversy. I am writing this neither in support of JI nor against it. Whether we agree or not, the ideology or the message of JI is documented in its literature. Its methodology is also clearly indicated. ~ – Under the prevailing circumstances, if some people feel that there should be another approach for solving the problems of Muslims and the Dalits let them come – E forward and form another organisation, militant or otherwise, and bear it fruits good or bad.
My only contention is why try to alienate the people who are otherwise sympathetic to the cause DV is ° very painstakingly championing.
Introduced to DV through Jamat: I can tell you from my personal knowledge that JI people are not only sympathetic to the cause of Dalits but more than that. You know that I am a DV subscriber for the last 10 years. I leant about the DV through JI and is organ, Radiance.
I know Muslims, by and large, are very much fond of veiling differences rather than doing any constructive – job. If some people really very sincerely and seriously feel that a revolutionary approach is needed to solve the problems let them advertise, collect like-minded people, let them make a party, knowing fully wail the pros and cons of it, rather than sitting in their drawing… rooms and having mudslinging at each other.
I really feel hurt to see this sort of tirade against the Jam ate -Isvari or Tablighi Jamaat in DV.
