Bangalore: When the US launched its latest aggression on lraq without the sanction of the United Nations or the world opinion, the Muslim rulers of the world (there are 54 Muslim govts.), simply kept mum. This we expected. But what happened to the Muslim masses? Particularly the Arabs, persecuted under their pro-Western, pro-zionist rulers? We thought the Arab masses would at least defy their rulers, declare a “Jihad against zionism” (DV Edit April 16, 2003). Nothing of it happened. The Muslim rulers, headed by the Saudi stooges of America, are all corrupt. This is well known. Now, Khalid Baig impact International (April 2003 p.14) blames even the Muslim ummah: -

But is this pathetic situation only because the Muslim rulers happened to be immoral, coward and unscrupulous? Is the 1.2 billion strong ummah suffering only because there are 54 bad people who are ruling it? These rulers do not carry out all their plans on their own. They have armies of compliant soldiers, bureaucrats, and others at every level of government that do dirty work. Further, societies at large produce, nurture, and sustain the corrupt machinery of the corrupt governments. Therefore, the problem is corruption — not only the rulers but also of the ruled. The people too have strayed from Islam and Islamic shariah in their personal lives: they lie, cheat, steal at a higher rate than ever before; they exploit and oppress others in own small spheres. In shon, the problems are caused by their moral corruption. But there is something more. And it is getting scant attention in the Muslim discourse. Islam teaches that the correctness of belief is even more important than correctness of deeds. There is an implied message here: the corruption of ideas is far more devastating than the corruption of deeds.
Gujarat genocide: Though we are not competent to pass such a verdict about the Muslim masses outside India, certainly we can do so knowing India full well. Take the case of Gujarat Genocide -2002 where 2,000 Muslims simply died without offering any resistance. The hold of the Muslim religious leadership is total and complete. It will not allow any section of the Muslims to revolt — let alone jihad. India did not witness a single suicide bomb case despite so much of anti-Muslim propaganda followed by widespread violence. Are we to conclude the Muslim masses have also been corrupted?
