The Cultural Association, Nanded, is grateful to you for your visit to Nanded to address our one- day seminar on your path-breaking book, Caste -A Nation Within the Nation. The reactions to your speeches during the morning and afternoon sessions were very favourable though some in the audience and some speakers had some confusion about your novel “Caste Identity “thesis. These people do not understand that the identity of Aryan castes is getting strengthened day by day but at the same time the identity of non-Aryan castes is getting weaker. However, you have disturbed the thoughts of our people, and they will go on discussing things. That itself is a big success. You have finally made them think. The churning must continue.
Meaning of casteism
Brahmins and other upper castes became our rulers by strengthening their jatis, by loving their jatis. The greatest virtue of a Brahmin is his supreme love for his jati. All our people know it and that is why they dub the Brahmins as cattiest. When our people say this consciously, they become unconscious about the impact of such a casteist tendency. The intense love for one’s jati also makes one blind. A blind lover also becomes a blind hater. You cannot get one vaidik in the whole country who publicly hates another vaidik. It is this casteism of the vaidiks that made them the rulers. Strengthen our “caste identity”, Brahminism will be dead. We are happy that our visit to Nanded has helped disturb the stinking pond. This is the first step to cleanse the pond – EDITOR.
