Raipur: The Madhya Pradesh govt. has finally 3 directed two American missionaries, Rev B.E. Getter and Mrs. S. J. Getter, working in the Surgujia district to leave India within one week (Times of India Nov. 12).
Earlier, the state government had ordered five foreign missionaries to leave the country on charges of “inciting” tribals. The supreme court had rejected their appeal against the deportment orders. They hac sought the permission from the state to remain in the country till some cases which were pending against them were disposed of. (“Nazis expel Jesuit priest”, 4 DV Sept. 16, ’91 p.6)
