I attended the 10-day course of Vipassana but did not understand how it would help our movement. It is a hinduised Budhism. It may heal some people mentally, but it cannot make us rulers.
I think that is what Dr. Ambedkar wanted us to be not to become “monk” who only thinks of his enlightenment.
I have nothing against Goenka, nor do I claim that it is useless. We must think what our aim is, why Babasaheb took dhiksha in Buddha’s teaching. He gave much emphasis to his social teachings and, of course, morality which, according to him, is the basis of an equal and just society.
One more reason: This movement is led by corrupt Bania money. I witnessed in Lucknow the businessman who built a vihara Lucknow is stinking rich and I don’t think he is earning money according to the dhamma teaching. All teachers there in shivira were Brahmins.
On the last day of my shivira, I asked a few questions on the caste system. Though he criticised the caste system, he reminded me of his upper caste origin. Now decide what is wrong or right.
