Bangalore: According to a Deccan Herald report (Nov.29), a large number of upper castes in Bihar are becoming turncoats suddenly switching to professions usually associated with “lower” castes: – The Aryans decided to swallow their pride and become milk vendors. They however, did not make the folly of choosing any odd profession which carried the stigma of “inferiority”. Milk trade, the traditional occupation of the Yadavas, seems to be the favorite choice for the scores of Brahmins, Rajput and Kayastha turncoats. Yadav, of course, is Bihar’s most prized caste now. The newly-converted Guia reckon that taking up the trade of the CM’s caste brethren will give them an extra advantage. To those Aryans, religion is a business. Like cockroaches, they will adjust themselves to any situation.
