Sikhs not to observe I day  

Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC), the apex body for running Sikh gurdwaras, has deleted Independence Day and Republic Day from its list of holidays. It has incorporated June 6, the day “Operation Bluestar” took place in 1984, as the “Ghallughara Holiday”. (Times of India. Sept 22).
