Shilpan Patel, USA: Unfortunately this may sound empty but I truly believe in it. I think the impact you have made on thousands of lives pales in comparison to having millions in the bank. No amount of money can buy that. You also have been successful in making sure not only your son but also your grandchildren are self sufficient and they do not need any help from you with regards to money. They definitely need your help in guiding their conscience and thinking. Thank you for continuing the DV for so long
Rajkumar Oshoraj, Canada: I applaud your dedication to our community. You have done a great job in spreading Babasaheb’s mission globally-not only among his followers but also among those who hate his guts. What more Dalit Voice can do? I would like to see Dalit Voice continue to educate depressed classes about Babasaheb’s social, economic, political and religious ideology. Besides when they struggle to decide how to react to the attacks on them not limited to human rights but their freedom for religion, Dalit Voice can guide them. The Depressed Classes need not to exhaust their energy in re- inventing any new wheels, Dalit Voice can support them to reach their resolution by simply guiding and reminding them to follow their father’s (Dr. Ambedkar’s) footsteps to make all their decisions as guided by him in all areas of development either it is social, economic, political or religious.
Rajdeep Singh, UK (rajdeep_1@hotmail.co.uk): I don’t understand why you keep writing the term Jat Sikhs and Dalit Sikhs when our religion specifically states that there are no castes in Sikhism and that we are all equal. Also, Dera Sauda (1 prefer not to call it Sacha) is not part of Sikhism in any way, shape or form. The head continues to undermine and ridicule Sikhi and Guru Gobind Singh such as, by making the Sat Sitare. There are also many stories of the disgraceful acts which occur in the Dera. Therefore it has no link to Sikhism at all.
Ours is 30-year old publication with good circulation among Jat Sikhs, SGPC is a life member. For the sake of Sikhs we were arrested and kept in the Chandigarh jall (1966), The Akali Dal was so grateful that it wanted us to contest from Punjab and get elected to Lok Sabha None of the Jat Sikh leaders-whether in Akall Dial or outside-had any complaint against us Rather they all loved us. Our one book is dedicated to Sant Bhindranwale. But Brahmins are sowing seeds of hatred between Jat Sikhs and Dalita. We use the two ferms because its in every day use and published in scholarly books and daily papers Because the people use it we repeat it. We did not invent the two terms “Dalit is a dignifled term used by Dr. Ambedkar to refer to the Untouchables Please read the history of india and Punjab in particular. Those who do not know the past cannot build the future-EDITOR.
Hindukush@rediffmail.com: I am a teacher in New Jersey (USA). Your website is just great. But I am not sure if you will be successful in misleading people Even after 60 years of independence, you have reservations, which were supposed to be for 20 years You have all the powerful positions and still cry that you are oppressed. You people blame it on Brahmins You have all the opportunities more than others Even if you are millionaires, you still want reservations, all in the name of caste. You don’t want the caste system, but want reservations based on caste. Your so-called corrupt India is ruled by many Dalits also. The most corrupt state in the country UP is ruled by a Dalit, who did nothing to bring them out of poverty, but only continued to hoard and make money. Only when there is a problem she screaming that she is a Dalit ki beti. If there were no opportunities how can a Dalit woman become chief minister of the largest state in the country? Most corrupt ministers and politicians also come from your class.
You are a rare honest person among your mentally sick tribe. Brahmins boast they are the world’s most brilliant But you are not only a Brahmin but a teacher in the Brahminical heaven of America. And still suffering from appalling ignorance. The 20-year limit for reservation for SC/ST in the constitution applies only to the reserved constituency. Reservation In education, jobs and promotions has no time imit. The Brahmin ignorance is appalling, No person in the world is filled with as much venom as the valalik rahmin. Please “educate you before calling yourself a teacher. Mayawati is elected by the people and they will remove her if found her unfit. You have no right to speak on her corruption which in India is the sole monopoly of the Bhoodevatas – EDITOR,
S.A.U. Patel, Khanpur Deh-392 150: In the very second paragraph of his article on p.20 (DV Jan. 16. 2010), Dr. Chandanshive has erred seriously by stating that Prophet Muhammad founded Islam in the 5th century AD. In fact, the monotheistic Islam was the religion of Adam, the first man on earth Muhammad was the last of god’s messengers all of whom were reguiding the Satan-inspired idol worship (designed by selfish people) and atheism which is another name of egotism.
Santosh Behera, Bhandi Street, Koraput 764 020: A sensitisation meeting on BAMCEF was organised on Jan.21 at Jeypore. Employees of five districts of Southern Orissa (Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati) participated. A monthly newsletter, The Caste (Jati) was released by Deeman Dharmvir Ashok Singh. The title of the newsletter is based on the caste thesis of V.T. Rajshekar in his titanic book, Caste – A Nation Within the Nation. Those interested in publishing their articles on caste may contact the publisher (gangakpt2010@gmail.com), Ganga Sagar c/o Sonu Majhi, Upadakapala, Irrigation Colony, Jeypore, Koraput Dt. 764 004 (Orissa). Kavedha Swaminathan, 58-Suvedha Nilayam, P&T Nagar, Madurai-625 017: I heard a TV News (Feb.10) that a district court in Maharashtra has ordered Sekhawat, husband of the President of India, to surrender a 2.5 acre land to the Dalit farmer. By creating false documents and applying physical force the Sekhawat had confiscated the land. Shocking. I am unable to digest the character and culture of a person who happens to the first man of India. DV should expose the first family of India, a symbol of Dalit oppression
Dinesh, Hyderabad, (dinesh.ketumukha@gmail. com): This refers to DV report: “Founders of racism complain of racism in Australia”. In this article the first line says “Once Whites only racist Australia”. Why does that make Australia racist? Do people of a country not have a right to decide who comes into their country? The question is genuine, not rhetorical. I understand the racism in India. I also understand that Australians are honest, but my question is why does the ‘Whites only policy of Australia make it racist? Isn’t it their right to decide who they want to let in ? I know that they don’t have that ‘whites only’ policy anymore but even if they did, how is that racist is my question?
Australla being an honest society, it had the courage to announce they are racist. But the dishonest Brahminical rulers use high sounding thetorics, boasting about their great qualifies”. Yet silently enforcing racism EDITOR
Madhu Chandra, Spokesperson, North East support Centre & Helpline, New Delhi: I thank our friends for bringing the racial discrimination meted. to people from North East India to minimize incidents and zero tolerance. We could make the impact on the society and policy making body to bring check list on the issues faced by North-East people in last few years in Delhi. At the executive meeting of North East Support Centre & Helpline along with parental supportive organization-All India Christian Council have resolved to counter fight against human trafficking which has became the largest threat to the society in human history, Dalits, Tribal and including many North Eastern kids have been the victims of human trafficking. From now onward, All India Christian Council along with North East Support Centre is launching anti-human trafficking helpline and advocacy centre in New Delhi. (finicy@gmail.com)
Bharat Jhunjhunwala, Uttarkhand: Whether it is CPM, Cong or BJP-all are upper castes. Even Mayawati is an upper Dalit. The only solution is to locate the pro-poor elements within the upper caste leadership and work with them. This does not follow that some upper caste individuals are enemies but others are friends-like Marx and Lohia. Upper caste IAS officers have done more for Dalits while Dalit IAS officers have been often cruel to Dalits. So birth and caste are not the issue. Enemeis are in individual orientations not in birth. Let us look for representatives of the poor among the Cong, CPM and BJP and work with him. But let us not assume that every Muslim has his heart with the oppressed Muslims. Kamrujjaman (kamru_jaman@rediffmail.com): Myself, Soleman Sahib and Dr. M. Chisty of Calcutta met Irshadul Haque at Patna on Feb.9 and discussed about “Pasmanda Muslims” and Dalit-Muslim movement in Bihar. We also met Lalu Prasad Yadav in his Circular Road bungalow and spoke about you. We liked his ideas. He said, “V.T. Rajshekar is my old friend, he visited me when I was in jail” He assured us to join our convention at Patna in July 2010.
Lalu like all politicians is interested only in votes but not in principles. He gave lots of promises but forgot after he came out of the jall. We wil attend the July Pasmanda convention. We will see if Lalu has the courage to inaugurate EDITOR
Mohd. Younusuddin Farooqui, 244/31-Labour Colony, Nanded-431 602: I was a life member of DV. Pleas re-collect our paper, Afkar-e-Bahujan, Urdu fortnightly, whose editor was Khadija Begum Farooqui whom you defended. Because the Maharashtra Govt. filed a case against Afkar-e- Bahujan. When I met you in Bangalore, you told me to print Urdu DV edition from Nanded. You suggested us to publish the Dalit Voice in Urdu. We are ready to take up the responsibility. Urdu-knowing Muslims should know your thoughts.
Publishing Urdu DV is wonderful. We need a ful story of Khadija Begum so that we can publish it in DV-EDITOR.
R.G. Kureel, IPS (retd.), Pancham Vihar, 811-Civil Lines, Unnao 209 801: I congratulate you for publishing the only journal of Dalit movement continuously for the past 29 years, very bravely. I am a member of DV for the last 7 years and I read all national and international burning issues, specially related to the down-trodden peoples of the whole world. Political reservation is a total failure. Our MP’s and MLAs are only bonded slaves of their party. Aryans dislodged the original inhabitants of India from power, property and honour. They created the chaturvarna and atisudras and distributed them among 6,000 castes. Due to low and high category of castes and untouchability the Moolnivasi could never unite and that is why they remained slaves for thousands of years. Babasaheb Ambedkar sacrificed his life to recover the snatched rights of SC/ST/OBC and minorities. But after 63 years of independence” nothing has been given to these people. Our 120 MPs in parliament and in the same ratio MLAs come back after each election but failed to fill up even the reserved quota. So much so, about 40 lakh posts of SC/ST have been captured by upper castes and in lieu of that about Rs. 8,000 crores is being looted every month. A mere 15% upper castes have captured 88% govt. jobs, 97% trade, 94% land, 70% politics 78% education, 100% pujasthals and 100% Indian army. Though we are 85%, no prime minister came from our communities despite 15 parliamentary elections. You are right. Brahminical system is continuing. But the Indian constitution is subverted by the Brahmin jatis. It is time our Ambedkarites create an atmosphere to start a war for liberation of Moolnivasis from the slavery of Brahminism.
Your Letter came as a pleasant surprise. Though you have been our family member for seven years and have great admiration for our wor you were silent all the while. Your attitude answers your own questions. What you state a fact-often repeated in DV. Our people are suffering. This is also a fact. But suffering must naturally lead to anger and then profest. Bur we have not seen any of the suffering people getting angry- let alone protesting. This a because the SC/ST/OBCs have been fully hindulsed meaning injected with a poison that kills our very life spirit. The existing SC/ST/BC Muslim leadership must be thrown out-EDITOR
Ashok T. Jaisinghani, Pune, (ashokjai@sanchar net.in): Foodgrains are being hoarded on a massive scale even now by the Govt. of India. Instead of releasing more stocks in the market to bring down the prices, Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar has been openly boasting that the govt, has built a huge “buffer stock” of foodgrains which is equal to India’s requirement for 2 years. It is absolutely clear that the govt. is the biggest hoarder, which has deliberately created a massive shortage of foodgrains. It is also clear that Sharad Pawar is only interested in making the food prices to shoot up very fast in a short period. Who can solve the problem of massive increases in the prices of foodgrains when our dishonest and corrupt leaders are hell-bent on starving crores of people by making more and more items of foods very expensive and unaffordable? There has been a massive rise in prices of pulses, sugar, rice, wheat, and common vegetables like potatoes, onions, tomatoes, guar, etc. The prices of many items of food have more than doubled in less than one year.
K. Ashok, Govt. Service, Abids, Hyderabad (kashok71@gmail.com): Casteism is wrong, unacceptable, inhuman has to be put to an end but not the Hindu religion or the Sanatan Dharma which is original, pure and perfect. Please understand it and follow it. Everything has some defect. If caste is there in Hinduism, unitedly we have to remove it.
If what you say has to be accepted, it will come into conflict with the constitution of India. The Indian subcontinent has plunged into chaos violence and what not only because of this conflict. The problem with Hindus à education has not led to enlightenment. This is the cause of India’s steep fall. Of the 187 countries in the world our rank is somewhere around 140 while China is No.2-though if became independent 2 years after India. We Dalits hate none. But we are the victims of hatred – EDITOR.
S. Thangasamy, Advocate, 114-Paul Nagar, Thathanoothu Road, Sankarnagar, Tirunelveli tq. – 627 257: We want to invite you to Tirunelveli in April or May for a big meeting with all your admirers and DV family members
M.K. Das, ARCS Bhadrak, at/PO/dt. Bhadrak-756 100: I have read your serious writings in DV and touched by your grave concern for not receiving a letter of appreciation from your readers. Actually this is not a fact. Many readers like me are lazy. Willfully, we are defaulting. Sheer laziness. DV has opened our eyes regarding our duties and rights.
Even the mother will not give milk to the child unless it cries. But here you are talking of the grown up fellows, victims of Brahminical terrorism. That is why the ruling upper castes (15%) say everything is alright because those kicked, killed, raped and bunt allve do not even complain not to speak of crying. Who can save such fellows? – EDITOR.
Vikas Pankaj (pnkj.iitk@gmail.com): I met you during your visit to BHU (Varanasi) in 2004-05. Sanjay Chaudhary is intimately known to me. Dalit students are facing not only serious discrimination in ITTK but also in ISM Dhanbad and IIT Allahabad. Please spread this message so that others also know this fact through Dalit Voice. Also help us get re- instated in the program as many of us are in final year degree course.
Sanjay Chaudhary is in Bangalore Law University but after he got his work done he has forgotten CUS This is the case with all Brahminical bum- lickers-EDITOR
Shivramkrishna S. Patil, Nagpur-440 013: This is with regards to the unrest that has been going on in my thoughts for some time. Being a Dalit I find it difficult to connect with past history and the present scenario and would like to learn from you to brief me on the topics of the Dalit movement, both past and present, and the relevant topics.
Being a Dalit from Nagpur from where Babasaheb shook the Brahmins by quitting Hinduism. It is surprising that you are still confused EDITOR
Dr. Md. Afsar Ali, Flat No.2/9, II-C, Prantik Phase II. M.G. Road, R.C. Chawk Thakurani, Calcutta-700 104: We met in Calcutta (Munshidanga, Howrah) on Jan. 26. This was my first opportunity to see and hear you. You are a messiah devoted for the rescue of the downtrodden in this so-called civilized society. My full support is with you.
Mushtaque Madni, (mushtaque.madani@rediff mail.com): Ultimately, though belatedly, it was the ever-reliable and time-tested face-saving weapon that came to the depressed Sena’s rescue-violence Why it had to be only Shahrukh and not P.C7 Chidambram, not only expressed his regret about non-inclusion of Pakistani players in the ensuing IPL but candidly regarded some of them to be of ‘world class? But targeting the vulnerability is Sena’s greatest strength since its inception. I wonder why the courageous Sena, which can take on the entire system to ransom, has not yet dared to demand an unconditional apology from S.M.Mushrif, the author of Who Killed Karkare?.
Sher Singh, IAS (retd.), H.No. 1897-Urban Estate, Ph-II, Patiala 147 002: The Delhi Govt. has set up a new “Dalit-officers” promotion policy truncating DOPT office. No, it is not a new office. It is the old DOPT (Dept. of Personnel & Training Office), now having a one-point agenda of depriving Dalits their birth right of reservation in Class-I posts. The anti Dalit lobby has issued a new circular to take away the reservation in Class-I posts in the name of “public interest and fill up the reserved posts by genera candidates. The National Commission for SC/ST/ BCs have been reduced to zero by giving them only 2 weeks time to respond to the proposals to dereserve the class-I post, otherwise it will be presumed that they have no comments to offer. Such great hurry not shown by the manuwadis in implementing the schemes for SC/ST/BCs. The PM must fix the responsibility for issuing this order and chargesheet the concerned officer who hate Dalits.
The Khatri Sick PM is more anti-Dailt than the most notorious Brahminical fellows- EDITOR.
Dalip Pandhi, (dspandhi@rediffmail.com): The Ravidasias established a new sect from the Sikhs by establishing their own gurudwaras and rejected the Guru Granth. The Ravidasias are confined only t Punjab not in a big number and some of them an Ad-Dharami especially in Doaba. From the history of Aryan raiders they were called Chamars and they fought with the Aryans and many of them escaped from Punjab (North India) to South after the murderous attacks on them. This caste is about 28 crores in India. To issue a fatwa without any representation is not acceptable and many of these castes are not followers of the Ballan Dera. This fatwa will create further differences in the community which is not in their interest. Ravidas 40 slokas are in the Guru Granth. The Sikh world has accepted it. We should be proud of this. The murder of a Ballan saint at Vienna last year was a conspiracy by those who are not Sikhs. It is time we think over this fatwa.
Ashish Kumar, JNU, New Delhi: Thank you for your observations on my article. This is my first article. I am still in a learning process. I come from a struggling background and also the first person in the family to reach the M.Phil level. I also don’t claim that I have read all the literature on the Dalit issues due to my socio-economic limitations. But I am trying my level best to improve myself and my understanding regarding the issues related to our community. As far as the approach is concerned when I started writing the article I wanted to know how Jotiba Phule and Babasaheb understood the issue of education and nationalism. The material 1 used for the article is mostly borrowed from other people or obtained from library or internet. Due to economic constraints I find it tough to buy literature. So mostly I rely on library and internet provided by the university. I hope you will understand the situation I am working in and try to understand the Brahminical world around me.
There is no excuse for a Dalit PG student, that too in the country’s most important university (JNU). in the 21st century. Babasaheb was centuries back and all through a rural student and from a much poorer background. Still he finally emerged as one among the “7 Best Brains of the World” You are your own architect. The whole world in India is against the Dallt. We are aware of it. But DV is 30 years old. Many Dalits in JNU were subscribers, invited us many times. But not one remembers us today. Dalits go to JNU to mainly get into IAS/IPS central past or marry Brahmin giris All the Dalit students whom we supported have been a thorough disappointment. So we can’t accept your excuses- EDITOR.
Hamid Vaduthala, Advocate, Elippakulam PO, Kayamkulam-690503: I had been a subscriber and enthusiastic of Dalit Voice and your books. But due to some personal reasons I could not keep up that zeal and devotion for some time. Now I am back to your fold and I can rate Dalit Voice as No.1 in India with a vision to enlighten and empower the neglected, marginalised and enslaved millions of this great country. I firmly believe that it is the duty of every discerning member of the depressed classes to promote The Voice of The Persecuted Nationalities Denied Human Rights and am trying to contribute my limited share. There is no publication in Malayalam (Kerala) to focus on the real problems and ground realities of Dalits in Kerala. Hence I take this opportunity to bring your attention to the need to publish Dalit Voice in Malayalam. I am an Advocate practicing at the Additional District Court Centre at Mavelikara (Kerala). I spend part of my time for the liberation of the havenots. I am an apprentice in the process of social change and social justice. I am also the president of Muslim Educational Society (MES), Alappuzha District and the Secretary of NCP Legal Cell. I am associated with various socio-cultural organizations in the state. I also served as the president and secretary of the Mavelikara Additional District Court Bar Association. I am heavily indebted to you for guiding the Dalits, Backward Classes and minorities in our country and other parts of the world to a new dawn of equality, fraternity and freedom. I assure you all support in the endeavour to translate your vision into reality to humanise the human race.
Your reply helped us locate the dynamo behind the sudden spurt in DV circulation in Kerala caught in the money-driven tsunami. We had a big circulation in Kerala “once upon a time”. Brother V. Prabhakaran was the pioneer but Drollita only betrayed him and he got disgusted, became a Musilm, now living in remote Thrissurat. comen We toured Kerala with Kanshi Ram fwice or thrice But the Brahminical (zionist) money-driven society has taken away all our boys and girls and made them slaves. Since Trivandrum is close to your place we can come there to review where we falled. Sall K. Cherman, whose subscription you sent was the editor of Malayalam DV. All this are old stories. Today. Dalits are rushing towards “political power” which they are not getting. The Muslim leadership has forgotten all the revolutionary messages of the Quran and simply allowed the Brahmins to catch the helpless chicken and eat. DV is about 30 years old but unable to face the Brahmin typhoon killing this country. BothDallt and Muslim youths are being swallowed by the zionist-Brahminist money-driven tsunami-EDITOR.
J.R. Dugh, Indian Foreign Service (retd.), A-46, Sector-14, Noida-201 301: I shall be grateful if you or your members could take up in the Supreme Court a public interest litigation based on my own case in which disciplinary proceedings were launched by committing wholesale violation of my fundamental rights to equality, that of other constitutional provisions and that of CCS (pension) rules, because of my Dalit identity, Please send me name, address of a senior Dalit advocate in and around Delhi whom I can contact and hand over all the papers to enable him to file the PIL. in the Supreme Court. I may not be able to pay his rightful fee, but I will surely make the maximum possible contribution (M:9811076151).
Muruganandan K, Student of MA -II (English Lit.), English Dept., Pondicherry University, Puducherry-605014: I am a reader of DV and trying to make others also read our journal here. As this university is the sole property of Brahmins it can be called an agraharam. I read the report on Medha Patkar being greeted with eggs. None can question the authenticity of DV. Please give more factual details about Patkar and Arundhati’s Brahminical distortions. The Indian judiciary has proved itself to be the sole property of the “cross-belt walas” by denying quota to the Muslims in AP. I am a member of DV since last June. I was introduced to Dalit Voice family by Dr. T. Marx, who is a professor in the Department of English in Pondicherry University And we don’t encourage reading our journal online and use to circulate only the printed copy, so that those who realise its worth would join with us.
This is the first time we are hearing from you. But DV a 30 year old. Not one sentence in DV was so far challenged. Do you know of the “Law of contradictions”, wiltten by the great Mao Tse Tung? If not, order a photocopy of the bookler from us (Rs. 50). That will give you the reply to your question on Aurandhall. It is simple: if the Enemy praises you it means you are a bogus person, helpful to the enemy. If the enemy attacks you or kills you that means you are a genuine person, if not a great person, Gandh was praised by the enemy. Dr. Ambedkar and Periyar were bodly criticised-EDITOR
