Calcutt: The prestigious Asiatic Society, Calcuita, has invited Editor V.T. Rajshekar to deliver the keynote address to the two-day seminar on the “Life & Time of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar”, at the Institute, No.1, Park Street, Calcutta – 700 016 on Dec.6.
The seminar is divided into four sessions:
(1) Dr. Ambedkar as humanist and socialist,
(2) state, minorities and women,
(3) Indian social structure and Dr. Ambedkar and (4) the political ideology in West Bengal and Dr. Ambedkar.
This is perhaps the first time the 220-year-old Asiatic Society is taking note of Dr. Ambedkar, “independent” India’s greatest leader hailed as the “Father of India”. The upper caste rulers have made a mess of the country by neglecting the thoughts of Babasaheb but thrusting upon the unwilling people marxism and their bogus gandhism which suited their class-caste: interests.
Readers of Dalit Voice in the whole of North-East, particularly the Bengali Musiims who got Babasaheb elected to the Constituent Assembly, should make use of this opportunity by attending the seminar on Dec.6 and 7. ‘
