LALITHAKALA UNIVERSITY The Government has already taken the decision to establish a University of Fine Arts at Mysore. The University will impart training to young and aspiring artists in the fields of folk art, sculpture, painting, music etc. and will provide much needed trust and focus in the field of Fine Arts.
KANNADA BHAVANA The Government has sanctioned the construction of Kannada Bhavana – a prestigious house to preserve and propogate Kannada Language and Culture. KARNATAKA DARSHANA A great visual treat. To be established near Bangalore city. To acquaint all visitors with the glory that is Karnataka. The project depicts the landmarks and monuments of Karnataka and the visitor can look forward to knowing the whole of Karnataka without visiting every nook and corner,
ALL INDIA AWARD FOR MUSIC Karnataka has the unique distinction of nurturing both classical Hindustani and Carnatic music. An All India Award will be instituted to cherish this great tradition.
MUSIC FESTIVAL By the sad demise of Basavaraja Rajaguru, Kumara Gandharva, Mallikarjuna Mansur, the state has lost three of Its greatest musicians. To honour their memory it is decided to have a three day annual music festival In Karnataka inviting the best of talents in the field.
DEVELOPMENT OF FOLK ARTS
Karnataka is the home of vibrant and colourful folk arts. A folk arts festival under the auspices of the Fine Arts University will be organised on a permanent basis.
KUVEMPU & BENDRE PRATHISHTANA
A Kuvempu Pratishtana at Kuppalli, Theerthathalli Taluk, Shimoga district and Bendre Pratishtana at Dharwad will be established to maintain the residences and works of these great writers of Karnataka. These will develop into places of pilgrimage for students and lovers of literature from all over the world.
HONOURING OF TWO, GREAT KANNADIGAS
Poet Laureate K.V. Puttappa and stage and film artist Dr. Raj Kumar are two of the gems of Karnataka. The highest honours of the state will be conferred on them in a befitting manner in the month of November.
