Bangalore: Ramachandre Gowda, MLC, has demanded a CBI inquiry into the shady affairs of Man-Jog group of companies in the State and punish the guilty. Addressing a press conference organised by the Man-Jog Investors’ Welfare Association here on July 11, he charged that thousands of gullible public had been cheated to the tune of several crores by the company. Over 5,000 people had become victims by investing to a tune of Rs. 350-400 crore in the company. The High Court ordered that ‘all the companies run under different names by two persons, Paramjit Singh and Manjit Singh, come under Man-Jog group of companies and there is a case for liquidation proceedings under the Companies Act”. What is surprising is how such notorious Sikh cheats were allowed to capture the local Gurdwara and act as religious heads of the Sikh community. Does it mean that the city Sikhs, mostly traders, are using the Gurdwara for their business purposes? – EDITOR.
