The “letter” by Iqbal Ahmed, Riyadh, (DV Jan. 16 p.12) inspired me to write and provide some more information about the overseas employment problems of the Indian Muslims.
Most of the big overseas agents are concentrated here and they all belong to the “Savarna Fascist group”. They have grabbed this lucrative big business of overseas recruitment with the help of Indian ruling class. They discriminate against Muslims. This is my experience and also that of many other Muslim friends who are trying for jobs abroad. These Hindu sharks (agents) have come to know the Arab rulers’ utter disregard for Indian Muslims and this has emboldened these sharks.
The respective Arab govts. must review this situation and take steps to put a stop to this malpractice.
Tablighe-Jamat: With reference to debate on Jamate-Islami, some people are expressing unfounded fears that such a debate may divide the Muslims. In fact, such healthy debate and constructive criticisms will help Muslims to review the present situation of the Muslim ummah, under the fast- changing world situation, so that they could boldly face open hostility of all anti-Islamic forces.
Tablighe-Jamat is asking the Muslims to keep away from the only effective weapon to fight all these world oppressive forces, the weapon, that is the Quran. They ask Muslims not to approach the Quran from this angle. The Tablighe-Jamat says the Quran is a book not to be understood by the common masses. It is reserved only for the “Muslim Brahmins” to ponder over its verses.
How strange and foolish.
A reader of the Quran can plainly see that it is the one and only sared scripture in the world which has called upon its followers not to monopolise the Quran by the few. There is no such thing as “priestcraft” or “saintcraft” in Islam. It is time that both the Jamats changed their stand.
