This refers to the letter from Brother Bavidoddy Tukaram and your note thereunder (DV July 1, p.15). I am overjoyed to note that for the past 13 months Tukaram is selling 100 copies of DV every fortnight. As per my rating his contribution to DV is just next to its Editor. I think it is the responsibility of all well to do Dalits to honour such young heroes. I promise that from April 1992 to March 31, 1993 whoever becomes the largest seller of DV will get a cash prize of Rs. 1,000 from me. But this largest” sale should not be less than 100 copies of DV per fortnight on an average or 2,400 copies during the year. In April 1993, on hearing the name and address of the award-winner from the Editor, I will send the award money through DD. I will start with one prize only. If I get encouraging results, I may give more such prize.
