New Delhi: Retired Andhra Pradesh Director- General of Police M.V. Thomas on Sept. 14. alleged that the Soviet secret agency, KGB, had masterminded the assassinations of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi and was also responsible for the death of Lal Bahadur Shastri. Thomas, who had served for 11 years in the Intelligence Bureau (1959-70), told newsmen here that the KGB had entrusted the job of assassinating Rajiv Gandhi to the most wanted international terrorist Abu Nidal, who engaged the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) for the purpose.
