Kafir ex-communicated  

Patna: The Kafir controversy involving Dr A.R. Bedar, director of Khuda Bukhsh library, has taken a serious turn with the Edearae Shariya excom municating him from Islam and the Imarat Shariah of Bihar and Orissa describing him as “Kafir (infidel), “mulhid” (atheist) and Zindia” (religious hypocrite). The two religious bodies have issued separate fatwas (decrees) in the light of the utterances of Dr Bedar and his views expressed in his book, Seema ki Talash. (Telegraph, June 26)
