To provide some context for my remarks, and to demonstrate how counter-productive and foolish the so-called “war on terrorism” is, I’d like to start by reading to you one paragraph of 147 words from Vol Il of my book, Zionism: The Real Enemy of the Jews.
(In verbal parenthesis I’ll add that ‘resurrection” is a reference to Ariel Sharon’s rise from political death to the premiership of the zionist state lIsrael; -and “crucifixion” is a reference to the political destruction and eventually the death — almost certainly he was murdered — of Yasser Arafat).
This one paragraph | am about to read is my basic explanation of how to defeat terrorism:
WHY ZiONIST STATE WAS CREATED
Terrorists cannot operate, not for long, without the cover and the practical, emotional and moral support of the community of which they are a part. When that community perceives itself to be the victim of a massive injustice,. and if that injustice is not addressed by political means, the community will cover, condone and even applaud those of its own who resort to terror as the only means of drawing attention to the injustice, to cause it to be addressed. It follows that the only way to defeat terrorism — is by addressing the genuine and legitimate grievances of the host community. The community will then withdraw its cover and support for its terrorists; and if they continue to operate, the community will oppose then by exposing them — reporting them to the authorities if reasoning fails.
There are many case studies to support that basic explanation.
In Northern Ireland, for example, the British army did not defeat IRA terrorism. The terrorists called off their campaign because they had no choice — because the Catholic host community would not cover and support them any longer. And that happened only because the British Govt. summoned up the will to risk the wrath of militant Protestantism by insisting that the legitimate grievances of the Catholics of Northern Ireland be addressed.
There is no better illustration of how effective terrorism can be than its role of the creation of the zionist state of Israel. It was founded mainly by zionist terrorism and ethnic cleansing.
Question: What, really, is driving and sustaining violent Islamic fundamentalism?
Answer: It, Islamic terrorism, is the product, mainly, of the hurt, anger and humiliation of the Palestinian, other Arab and Muslim masses. And this hurt, anger and humiliation have three prime and related causes.
(1) America’s arrogance of power in general.
(2) American support for the Zionist state of Israel “right or wrong.”
(3) Impotence of the regimes of the existing Arab and Muslim Order; regimes which seem to think that their best and perhaps only chance of survival lies in doing the bidding of America. Which is, of course, why they are perceived by their masses to be American (and so Zionist) stooges or puppets to one degree or another.
ROOT CAUSE OF MUSLIM ANGER
The so-called war on terrorism could be easily and quickly won IF the root causes of Arab and other Muslim hurt, anger and humiliation were addressed. You’ll say to me, and | will agree with you, that there are several root causes. But there is one above all others, and that is the “Palestine problem”.
If the US President had a magic wand and could wave it overnight to get Israel back behind its borders as they were on the eve of the 1967 war, with Jerusalem an open city and the capital of two states, he would have, with one wave of the wand, the thanks, support and friendship of not only almost all Arabs, but also that of the overwhelming majority of the world’s 1.4 billion Muslims.
In other words, the Palestine problem is the cancer at the heart of international affairs. A cure for it would not bring the so-called “war against terrorism” to an immediate end, but it would make winning it a mission possible in a relatively short time.
MUSLMAN’S DONT HATE AMERICA
The Arabs and Muslims do not hate America, do not hate Americans and do not hate even the American. Way of life. Perhaps a third or even a half of all Arabs and Muslims would, if they could, emigrate to America to enjoy what they believe to be its good life.
What almost all Arabs and Muslims do hate is American foreign policy and American policy for the Middle East.
I think Americans are the most uninformed, mis-informed, naive and gullible people on the face of the earth. That’s the bad news. The good news is that deep down Americans are also the most idealistic people on earth.
What that suggests to me is that if the ordinary decent people of America- were properly informed about issues that really matter, I think they would take the lead in turning their own country around and enabling America to play it’s necessary leading role in changing the world for the better.
If the people of America had been properly and honestly informed about the cause-and- effect relationship of Israeli occupation to Palestinian violence, I think they -almost certainly would have demanded an end of Israeli occupation long ago.
President George Dubya Bush has thus become the best recruiting sergeant for violent Islamic fundamentalism, why? Is it
(a) because he is ignorant of history, doesn’t know what he is doing and is, in a word, stupid; or is it
(b) because he, or those who pull his strings, want a Clash of Civilisations, Judeo-Christian v Islamic?
In the (b) scenario it could be that the string-pullers don’t want a “Clash of Civilisations”. It might be that they really don’t care if it happens because of their policy of ethnic and sectarian polarisation and conflict.
How you answer that (a) or (b) question depends on who you think is pulling President Bush’s strings.
ZIONISTS INSTIGATED IRAQ WAR
The jury in my own mind is convinced that the war with lrag is — certainly started out as — Zionism’s war. The initial and prime pushers for war were two neo-cons who are also hardcore, actually hardest core, zionists. They were Richard Pearl and Paul Wolfowitz. Zionism. wanted Saddam Hussein’s removal and lrag broken up because it perceived him and it to be the main potential threat to loreal’s military demination of the region…. | think it was only after Pearl and Wolfowitz started to press the case for war to get rid of Saddam Hussein that other powerful vested interests — Oil and the Military Industrial Complex to name two — came on board…… It’s also my view that Vice President Cheney —. 1 call him Dr Strangelove — is the man who orchestrates the pulling of President Bush’s strings.
As for President Bush himself, he is sounding to me, often, like a Dalek. For those who are not familiar with the BBC’s Dr. Who programmes, a Dalek is a robot, a programmed machine.
It is not right to describe Blair as Bush’’s “poodle”. Blair was essentially one of them. | mean that he is more neo-con than not, and more a.Christian fundamentalist than not. | also think he completely zionised British foreign policy. It will be interesting to see if Brown can undo some of that damage.
INFLUENCE OVER INDIA
I’d like now to say a few words about zionism’s penetration of India’s security services and parts of the Indian body politic at central decision-making level.
It’s no secret — well, not too much of a secret — that for the past decade and perhaps longer, the Mossad and other Israeli security agencies have been developing a special relationship with their Indian counterparts. So, what’s on the agenda?
In my understanding it’s part and _parcel of American neo-con and zionist contingency planning for the next 25 years. This includes a strategy for World War i, that is war with China. And this strategy foresees the need for America to have India as its Israel in South Asia.
in theory the prospect of war between America and China at a point in a foreseeable future must be taken seriously. Why?
If China continues its present development path — I mean if it does not implode from within because of its growing rich- poor divisions — it will need in 10 to 12 years or so about 70% and perhaps more of the world’s energy resources. Will America agree to that? Of course not.
America on present course would have two options: either to unleash the CIA and other agency allies in China with the hope of de stabilizing China and destroying its economy from within; or to go to war with China.
INDIA BECOME AMERICA’S ISRAEL
I cannot speculate in any detail about what India’s role would be as America’s Israel in the event of war with China. But I imagine that India’s prime function would be to take out Pakistan and Afghanistan with a pre-emptive strike.
For some years I have believed that if we citizens of nations leave the making of the future to our leaders and awesomely powerful financial vested interests, our children probably, and their children certainly, are most unlikely to have a future worth ‘having.
What can be done and by whom to stop the madness?
FATAH-HAMAS FIGHT
The strategy today of Israel’s leaders and their American collaborators seems to me to be quite clear. It is based on the hope that their Fatah proxies, with the assistance of Israel’s security forces as necessary, can be re- armed to take on and destroy Hamas, and this as a prelude to imposing on the Palestinians, by force if necessary, whatever Israel is prepared to offer by way of a final settlement — the crumbs from zionism’s table.
What will be the consequences:
It will add fuel to the burning street fire of Palestinian and other Arab and Muslim anger and humiliation; and no doubt provoke more Islamic terrorism. It will be counter-productive and move the region closer to g great upheaval — perhaps even the first real Arab revolution, which could see the toppling of regimes perceived by their masses to be American puppets.
And it will make an eventual “Clash of Civilisations”, Judeo- Christian v Islamic, more likely than not.
So, the most important question of, our time about the Palestine problem is this: What can be done, and by whom, to stop the countdown to catastrophe for all and give peace a real, last chance?
MEDIA MANIPULATION
In my analysis there’s a political reality – one above all others – to be faced. It is that the governments of the major Western powers are never, ever going to use the leverage they must call and hold the zionist state of Israel to account for its crimes unless…. Unless they are pushed to do so by informed public opinion; by a manifestation of real democracy in action.
The problem throughout the mainly Gentile Judeo-Christian or Western world, and coast-to-coast across America especially, is that the citizens of nations are too uninformed to do the pushing. I mean that they are too ignorant of real history to make democracy work for justice and peace in the Middle East.
The explanation for this ignorance is not complicated. The citizens of the Western nations, generally speaking, have been conditioned by the mainstream media, which is terrified of offending Zionism, to accept a version of history, zionism’s version, which is simply not true.
| don’t believe real democracy exists anywhere in the world, and least of all America. What passes for democracy there is for sale to the highest bidders; and one of the highest bidders is zionism…. There is much more to democracy than voting every few years. For real democracy even to exist, the citizens of nations, the voters, must know enough about the great issues of the day to participate in informed and honest debate, which is the lifeblood of democracy, and be empowered to call and hold their leaders to account…. In the nations of the Western world, we have the framework of democracy, but with regard to the understanding needed to make democracy work for justice and peace in the Middle East, we do not yet have the substance.
So, what is it that the citizens of the Western nations need to know if they are to be empowered to play their necessary part in pushing their governments to call and hold Zionism to account?
KNOW TRUTH OF HISTORY
The short answer is — the truth of history as it relates to the making and sustaining of the conflict in and over Palestine.
It was to provide the first ever comprehensive account of the truth of history that I devoted more than five years of my life to researching and writing Zionism, The Real Enemy of the Jews. Given that it’s are-writing of the entire story of the making and sustaining of the Arab- Israeli conflict, replacing zionist mythology with the facts and documented truth, you might ask why I chose such faille. … I insisted on Zionism, The Real Enemy of the Jews because it reflects in seven words two related truths for our time. ‘
The first is that the sleeping giant of classical anti-Semitism has been re-awakened in the Western nations where most of the world’s Jews live. The second is that the prime cause of the re- awakening is the behaviour of A Tuite the zionist state of Israel.
Telling all of the knowable truth with global context required two volumes, but 1 can sum up the essence of it in about two minutes or thereabouts.
In the shadow of the obscenity of the nazi holocaust (a European not an Arab crime) the creation of the Zionist state Israel required the doing of a terrible injustice to the Arabs of Palestine, about three quarters who were of dispossessed of their land and their rights. by, mainly, Zionist terrorism and ethnic cleansing.
ISRAEL NOT A NATION STATE
Since its unilateral declaration of statehood in 1948, Israel’s existence has never, ever, been in danger from any combination of Arab military force or, to put it another way, the prospect of Israeli Jews being “driven in the sea” was never a real zone…. Zionism’s assertion to the contrary — the myth upon which the first draft of Judeo-Christian history is constructed — was the cover which allowed Israel to get away where it mattered most, Western Europe and North America, with presenting its aggression as self-defense; and itself as the victim when, actually, it was and.is the oppressor.
There are many people (and not only Jews of all persuasions and none) who say that Israel was given its birth certificate and thus its legitimacy or right to exist by a UN partition resolution; and because-of that, they also say, | am quite wrong, totally out of order, to describe Israel’s declaration of independence as “unilateral™. To those people | say that the essence of the truth of history under this heading can be summarised as follows….
The partition plan resolution of the UN General Assembly was only a proposal. It did not go to the Security Council for a policy decision because President Truman knew that, if approved, it could only be implemented by force —because of the totality of Arab and other Muslim opposition to it; and Truman was not prepared to use force. So, the Partition Pian proposal was vitiated, became invalid. And the question of what the hell to do about Palestine was taken back to the General Assembly for more discussion. The option favoured and proposed by the US was temporary UN trusteeship. It was while the General Assembly was debating what do that Israel unilaterally declared itself to be in existence — in defiance of the will of the organised international community, the including administration.
The truth of the time was that the zionist state had no right to exist and, more to the point, could have no right to exist unless …. Unless it was recognised and legitimized by those who were dispossessed of their land and their rights during its creation. In international law only the Palestinians could give Israel the legitimacy it craved. And that legitimacy was the only thing the zionists could not take from the Palestinians by force.
‘BIGGEST LIE IN HUMAN HISTORY.
150 As the record of de-classified documentation shows, it was Israel not the Arabs which spurned opportunity after opportunity to make peace — the Iratest of them being the re-presentation of Saudi Arabia’s initiative. Israel’s often repeated claim that it had “no- partner for peace”, and the assertion that it has lived in danger of annihilation, are the main planks of one of the biggest and most successful propaganda lies in all human history.
The man who did most to make peace possible on terms which any rational Israeli government and people would have accepted with relief was Yasser Arafat, which was why, from Zionism’s perspective, he had to be demonized and destroyed.
The colonial enterprise that zionism is has corrupted everything it touched, beginning with the United Nations and including the media, what passes for democracy in the Western world (America especially) and Judaism itself.
This is the short summary of the essence of the truth of history which the citizens of the Western nations need to know.
ZIONISM IS DIFFERENT ~ FROM JUDAISM
There is, however, another element of the truth that must be told if the citizens of the Western nations are to be empowered to play their necessary part in making democracy work for justice and peace in the Middle East. They must be in- formed of the difference between zionism and Judaism. in my view knowledge of this difference is the key to understanding.
To make the charge that criticism of Israel is a manifestation of anti-semitism, supporters and defenders of Israel right or wrong assert that zionism and Judaism are one and the same.
The truth is not only that zionism and Judaism are total opposites, but that the return of Jews to the land of biblical Israel by the efforts of man was proscribed by Judaism…. After my wife, my second best friend in the world is my very kosher Jewish accountant. Until this Gentile told him, he didn’t know that zionism was proscribed by judaism. I wonder how many other Jews don’t know.
I also wonder how many Jews, and Gentiles, are aware of the following… Many if not most of the Jews who went to Palestine in answer to zionism’s call had no biological connection to the ancient Hebrews. The incoming zionist Jews were mainly foreign nationals of many lands, descended from those who became Jewish by conversion to Judaism centuries after the fall of the ancient Jewish kingdom of Israel and what is called the “dispersal” into “oblivion” of its people. The notion that there are two entire peoples with an equally valid claim to the same land is historical nonsense. The relatively few Jews with a valid claim were, are, the descendants of those who stayed in Palestine through everything. They numbered only a few thousand at the time of zionism’s birth; they regarded themselves as Palestinians; and they were fiercely opposed R zionism was proscribed by “” Judaism. I wonder how many other Jews don’t know. I also wonder how many Jews, T October 16 – 31, 2007 I to zionism’s colonial enterprise — because they rightly feared that it would make them as well as the incoming, alien zionist Jews enemies of the Arabs among whom they had lived in peace and security.
ZIONISM DESTROYING JUDAISM
Judaism is the religion of Jews and, rather like Christianity and Islam, it has at its core a set of ethical principles and moral values. Zionism is not only a secular, colonialist ideology, it makes a mockery of, and has contempt for, the ethical principles and moral values of Judaism. Which is why those most often described as “ultra-orthodox” religious Jews say, and I believe they are right, that zionism is destroying Judaism. recently published and remarkable book on the sugar—.’; t of the difference between Judaism and zionism is titled A Therat from Within, a century of Jewish opposition to zionism, author, a Canadian Jew, Yakov Rabkin, who is Professor of History at the University of Montreal…. When Yakov was in London, I asked him, on the record, a very explicit question: “Is it reasonable to say that the Jews of the world now have a choice to make — either to reaffirm their commitment to Judaism and renounce zionism, or to reaffirm or affirm their commitment to zionism and renounce Judaism?” He replied with one word, “yes”.
ZIONISM THRIVING ON PROPAGANDA LIES
Zionism’s prime defence is not actually its bullets and bombs or even its nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction. Its prime defence is the wall- but not the so-called security fence or annexation wall currently nearing completion. the wall I am referring to is the wall of propaganda lies zionism has constructed (with the complicity of the mainstream Western media and governments) around its colonial enterprise.
The bottom-line point in three parts is this.
- The false charge of anti- Semitism is the blackmail card which the obscenity of the nazi holocaust enables zionism to play to silence criticism of its self-righteous and aggressive child, Israel, and to suppress informed and honest debate about who must do what and why if the countdown to catastrophe for all is to be stopped.
- If Zionism’s blackmail card is to be trumped — | mean if the fear of being falsely accused of anti-semitism for criticising Israel is to be exorcised, the citizens of nations must be informed Aboul the truth of history and, most important of all, the difference between Judaism and zionism,
- It follows, or so | believe, that the most effective Arab and Muslim response to American- and-zionist state terrorism (with a little assistance from Britain) is not violence of any kind, but participation in informed and honest discussion and debate to make democracy work for justice and peace.
BANGALORE STAGES IMPRESSIVE SHOW
Why am | so sure that democracy can be made to work for this noble cause? Short answer— | am convinced that the ordinary, decent peoples of nations are not nearly as stupid as they are assumed by their politicians and the mainstream media to be. They are merely under-informed and misinformed.
I’ll close by telling you about an event in India that reinforced my faith in what | like to call the innate common sense of so-called ordinary people.
In February 2007 in Bangalore, | participated in the Empower India Conference. My friend V.T. Rajshekar, who is with us today, was also one of the speakers…. | imagine, VT, that you were as much inspired by it as | was.
The closing rally on Feb.17 (my 65″ birthday) was attended by over 100,000 people. Quite an impressive number. But most impressive of all was the age, | mean the youth, of most of those attending. My guess was that three-quarters of them were about 20 or under. They were there, these young people, because they wanted to be better informed in order to play their part in making democracy work.
It was a most inspiring event, and | returned from India reinforced in my belief that stopping the madness is not a mission impossible.
