UP Goes MP Way 

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to do away with the use of the hated Harijan to denote the people belonging to Scheduled Castes. The State Cabinet here on Sept. 10 decided to drop the word from the Government’s vocabulary, as well as its documents and records. The Bahujan Samaj Party workers had been agitating for some time to remove the word from the Government’s lexicon on the ground that it was derogatory to Scheduled Caste people.
