Ranchi: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has once again asserted its supremacy not only among the various Jharkhand factions but also among the different political parties by winning all the six seats it had contested in the south Bihar districts.
Apart from retaining the seats of Jamshedpur, Dumka and Raajmahal it had won in 1989, the JMM emerged as the single largest party in south Bihar by also winning in Gudda, Singh hum West and Iridin taking its total to six against the five seats won by the BJP. Though the JMM fought the elections as an ally of the National Front, the party’s spectacular victory from the Singh hum West seat were following a disagreement, the Janata Dal and the JMM decided to fight each other in a “friendly contest,” proved that the party could win elections of its own.
