New Delhi: A section of the minorities, especially the Christian community, is perturbed over the Tamil Nadu Government’s attempt to regulate the functioning of minority educational institutions in the State. The Muslim reaction is comparatively muted, presumably because the number of Muslim educational institutions in TN is much smaller than those run by various Christian organisations. Indeed, the State Government’s move has been “provoked” by the allegedly arbitrary dismissal of three teachers of the Madras Christian College and to that extent the Christian institutions are more directly involved in the controversy.
