A Saudi delegation, led by Abdulaziz Al-Zamil, Saudi Minister of Industry and Electricity, held the third Indo-Saudi joint economic commission meeting in New Delhi from Nov. 13 to 15. They met private businessmen who assured the possibility of opening joint ventures with Indian enterprises, and praised steps taken by Delhi to liberalise its economy The kingdom is also a main importer Indian manpower, now around 6,00,000, the largest in the Gulf region. Non-resident Indians are also the main source of foreign exchange to the beleaguered Indian economy. The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) has been involved in financing several development projects in India, with the ongoing ones being the Nhava Sheva Port project in Bombay: Koraput-Rayaguda Railway line and Ramagundum thermal projects in Andhra Pradesh. SFD is also considering the Madras metropolitan power transmission and distribution project, the Sardar Sarovar hydro-electric and the Manjira water supply project in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh.
While welcoming the Saudi interest in India, we want to caution them on certain things: India has the single largest Muslim population in the world forming about 15% of its 850- million population. About 90% India’s Muslims – who ruled this country for over 800 years-are today not t only poverty-stricken but subjected to daily violence Within 45 war and years of Aryans/Hindus taking over India, Muslims have been reduced to abject slavery.
The very Muslim identity is under threat the rising reckless Hindu nazi upsurge that has converted India into the world’s most violent country.
