My thesis is “Caste system can be destroyed by strengthening our caste identity”.
During the last World War, a learned man said:
“Peace could be restored when each nation was equipped with equal amount of same and similar type of arms. fly so, no one nation would dare to attack others since the opponents are also in possession of equal amount of same or similar type of arms which might cause much more destruction to the attacking nation.”
The main weapon in the hands of India’s upper castes (Hindus) is their caste system. By strengthening their caste identity, they have been able to establish their caste supremacy which enabled them to rule India and enjoy all the fruits despite being microscopic minority.
Undoubtedly, Babasaheb Ambedkar advocated “annihilation of caste” to make the Indian society healthy. Yet, he questioned – “Was eradication of caste possible?” (Ambedkar Writings and Speeches Vol. V).
After 50 years of “independence’, the curse of caste and untouchability could not be erased from our society because the people with vested interest in their caste system were never interested in destroying their castes. They only show lip sympathy to the victims of caste with their sugar-coated words that caste is no longer relevant. But what is the reality? Instead of waning the caste is getting stronger.
Kanchi Ram’s call: Since the ruling upper castes are united under Hinduism and want to push the non-Hindu SC/ST/BCs under the road-roller of Hindus and crush us in the name of their religion, we can frustrate their game only by refusing to be called Hindus but strengthening each Jati.
Our “caste identity” alone can fight their “Hindu identity”.
If the SC/ST/BC people are determined to strengthen their respective caste identity, they will surely be able to command respect from their enemy. This is just like possessing equal number of weapons of the same or similar type as the enemy is possessing. Our Editor has been propounding the very same theory for a long time. BSP chief Kanchi Ram on June 12 in New Delhi also asked the Bahujan’s to strengthen their “caste identity” to fight Hindu enemies.
