Bangalore: DV was the first in the country to announce that Veerappan can never be caught. The reason is this Backward Caste (Vanniyar) “forest brigand”, as he is described in the Brahminical toilet papers, is a big socio- political force particularly in Tamil Nadu. Our opinion often expressed in DV (the entire reference is cited below for verification) is now supported by a top police officer of Karnataka. Sangliana is a Mongoloid Christian from North-East, noted for his honesty and bravery. He was once in charge of the catch-Veerappan mission.

Bangalore: The govt. cannot nab Veerappan even in the next 15 years, said H.T. Sangliana, outgoing Director-General of Prisons, here on June 30. According to him, the density of the forest, intelligence failure and non-cooperation from the villagers are the reasons behind the failure to nab Veerappan. The only option left for the State Govt. is to offer him a chance to surrender, Sangliana said on the eve of his retirement from the police department. (Deccan Herald, July 1, 2003).
Anti-people govt.: Both the State Govts. in Karnataka and TN know the secret of Veerappan’s invincibility. Yet why are they not giving up? The reason is simple. The govts. in India, both the States and the Central, do not represent the people. They represent the ruling class (V.T. Rajshekar: Who is Ruling India? DSA-1982). Veerappan represents the people. Hence this hunt to “catch or kill Veerappan” for the past 15 years spending crores and crores of rupees of people’s money when the real thugs and pin Daries of the country are going Scot free. What a shame. A govt. which boasts that it is the fourth biggest military power in the world can’t catch a forest brigand with just one gun capable of shooting birds only.
