Bangalore: Dravida Kazhagam (DK), Periyar E.V. Ramaswamy’s revolutionary organisation that created history fighting the Aryan brahminical terrorism against India’s original inhabitants, is all set to revive its activities after a 10-year-long crisis.
Kolathur D.S. Mani, who was expelled from DK by Veeramani, its general secretary, has succeeded in uniting all the splinter DK units that broke away from Veeramani. Thae first state-level conference of the new organisation, named Periyar Dravida Kazhagam (PDK) was held at Madras on Aug.11. It was attended by the different factions headed by Kovai Ramakrishnan, Thiruvaroor Thangaraj, Anoor Jagadishan, Viduthalai Rajendran etc. Kolathur D.S. Mani was elected president with Ramakrishnan and Rajendran as general secretaries.
Media blackout: Except Tanjore, Trichy and Thiruvalluvar districts of TN, Black shirt and sari-clad DK representatives from all parts of the state attended the Madras conference which was a big success.
The English press dominated by the Brahmins did not cover the conference, said Mani who was here on Aug.26 to meet our Editor who is a great supporter of Periyar movement. DV readers in Tamil Nadu and the rest of India in general are requested to contact D.S. Mani at his house address: PO Kolathur, Salem dt., TN – 636 303 (Phone 04298 – 59666) or the PDK head office at Saiva Muthaya 5th street, Royapettah, Madras – 600 014 (phone 852 6049).
The first task of the PDK will be to publish the 18,500-page handwritten manuscript of Periyar’s speeches and writings in Tamil covering the period 1925 to 1945.
Periyar’s DK under Veeramani has been dormant for long after he joined hands with the notorious Bangalore Papatti, representing the very forces against which Periyar fought all his life. The Editor offered full support of DV and its readers world-wide to the PDK
