Brother Rameshchandra Parmar has been our close friend for over 20 years and continues to be so. We twice toured Gujarat on his invitation during the height of the two “Gujarat caste wars”. It was due to his efforts and that of Brother Valjibhai Patel DV circulation soared in Gujarat. We continue to have the same respect for him and his vast contribution.
On this latest controversy we published all his Letters and that of Anand Parmar. We only asked Rameshchandra Bhai to clarify whether he had made the alleged statement attributed to him.
If he had not made the alleged statement he could have said so. It was quite possible that Hindu nazis might have put words into his mouth to defame him. But his failure to refute the allegation brought him into controversy for which DV can’t be held responsible.
His refusal to deny the statement made Dalits read all sorts of mornings into his silence. We can’t help it. Even now it is not too late for him to clarify his stand on Indian Untouchability, the world’s most horrible form of racism – EDITOR.
