Calicut: A new human rights organisation, Manushyavakasa Samrakshana , has been formed in Kerala and its first convention is proposed to be held here on March 6, 1992.
Dr. K.K. Rahulan of the SNDP Yogam, a noted Ezhava leader and a great advocate of Mandal Commission, was elected as its president. Dr. Punathul Kunj Abdulla, a noted Malayalam writer from Badagara, Athiram Prabhakaran, a noted journalist, and C.V. Antony, advocate, are vice-presidents. Convener is A.R. Panang& d. V. Prabhakaran DV representative in Kerala, is one of the three joint conveners.
The new human rights organisation is formed by Kerala’s SC/ST/BC and minorities who feel that the existing human rights and civil liberties organisations are pro-Hindu and not helpful to the non-Hindu original inhabitants of the state.
