The Dec. 14, 1990 masses murder of Muslims here by the Nazis and their Hindu police brought about a miracle: the unity of Dalits and Muslims-both victims of Hindu Nazism. Like Aligarh, Moradabad and Ganjdunduara also witnessed mass murder of Muslims by Hindu Nazis who were shocked by the mass conversion of Untouchables into Buddhism in Agra. Nazis are angry with Jatav’s (Untouchables) of Agra where the Muslims and Jatavas are living in peace as brothers. Some backward castes are brainwashed by the Nazis and it is these BCs who helped the Nazis in the Ramjanambhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute. The Dec. 14 mass murder of Muslims followed the provocative speech by Mrs. Uma Bharati, a BJP woman MP. The Nazi slogan said: Babar ke santano Pakistan Jao, Hindustan Hinduaon ka hai. They forced the Muslims to close their shops near the Jama Masjid area and told the shop keepers not to come out. That was a Juma day when the Nazis attack took place. Some Muslims were seriously injured. An indefinite curfew was imposed under eight police station areas specially Taj Ganj, Lohamandi, Chaatta, Nawabganj and Madan Mohan Gate etc. Curfew continued for 15 days. No one had seen a riot like this in Agra. Hundreds of Muslims were shot dead by the bullets of PAC and other police forces. Hundreds of Muslims shops, houses and industries like shoe factories and other sources of livelihood were burnt to ashes. Specially the Shahabuddin shoe factory and shop in Kamala Nagar. Wahabuddin and brothers were seriously beaten, costly jewels and cash were looted.
However, in the Jatav-majority areas, Muslims remained safe. They gave Muslims shelter in their houses until the riot was over. In the Jatava-majority areas where upper castes are in minority, Nazis had no courage to touch the Muslims. Jatav’s kept awake whole night to protect the Muslims. Some of the Nazi attempts to kill Muslims were foiled. Nazi leaders pleaded with Jatav’s not to give shelter to Muslims but the Jatav’s said they had nothing against Muslims and they were our brothers. “If anybody touches any Muslim in this area, no Hindu would stay alive, ” Jatavs warned. In Agra, upper castes are in minority. They are very much afraid of Jatav’s. That is why they managed to bring the notorious PAC to kill Muslims. PAC invaded the Muslim areas and shot them dead. Nazis are now angry with Jatavs and waiting for an opportunity to “punish” them. The transfer of SSP, Karmaveer Singh is still a mystery. The District Magistrate of Agra, Amal Kumar Verma, was alleged to have permitted the Nazi procession. When Girraj Singh, the new SSP, took over the mass murder of Muslims by PAC came to a sudden stop. When Chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav visited Agra, he was shown only the unaffected areas so that no Muslim complained.
