Dr. Abdullah Omar Nassif, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, has said in a message marking the ‘Black Day,” organized by the World Kashmir Freedom Movement, that he hoped the occasion would highlight before the people of the world the atrocities being committed by the Indian army and paramilitary forces in Kashmir and create an awareness about the struggle of the Muslims of the occupied territory who are demanding their right to self-determination. Dr. Nassif pointed out to the demand of the Kashmiris to implement the UK. resolutions adopted in 1948 and 1949, that were accepted by the Government of India at the highest level. The Muslim World League condemned the atrocities and inhuman acts such as killing, rape and wholesale arrest of the innocent people resorted to by the Indian occupation forces, he said.
The Secretary-General stressed the right of the Kashmiris to choose they’re by.” destiny without interferers from any quarter or linkage with the politics of the sub-continent. (Muslim World, Nov.4.)
