Nasik: Students Islamic Movement of India’s (SIMI) Malegaon unit president, Nurulhoda Samsudoha, was arrested for “anti-national activities”, on Aug.20 and remanded to police custody, the police said. He was arrested on Aug.18 from Jafar Nagar in Malegaon following a tip-off from a militant nabbed recently in Ayodhya, the police said. The militant “revealed” that two other uitras belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) had held discussions with SIMI’s Malegaon unit on Aug.6 to carry out subversive activities in the State, police said. The uitras, however, managed to escape when the police went there to arrest them. The crime branch police seized wall- posters, magazines and stickers of SIMI from Samsudoha’s room.
