Dr. V. Annamalai, Three Rivers, Tx . USA ; I came to know about DV from my brother, Prof. V. Thangavelu of the Govt. Arts College, Coimbatore. Rev. R. M. Premananandam, Pastor, Baptist Church, Hyderbad : Thank you for the battle you are waging against atrocities of communal Hindus & also for throwing light on vital issues in this connection. For the first time we came to know the facts of the Kanya Kumari clashes through the No. 11 issue of DV. I congratulate you for this selfless service. But let us not stop with mutal congratulations but must go a step forward. We must mobilise a country wide movement of all dalits including Christians, Muslims and also backward classes. All of them must come under one banner. DV must be used for this purpose.
S. N. Huda, Patna : Al-Hasnath, a prestigious Urdu journal of Rampur, UP, in its special annual issue of 1982 translated DV editorial of Dec. 1981 into Urdu. It is this publication that led many minorities to subscribe to DV which has become the champion of all oppressed communities. Its stand is praiseworthy. It appeals to me very much. Every member of the persecuted minority must read and encourage it. Muslims have no honest leader. I am glad to find a sincere champion in you. Your editorials are very bold, outspoken, hard hitting. When no Muslim leader or journal bothers to publish news items of interest to them and write to enlighten them, it is DV which is doing this signal service.
Baba Mahire, Betwad, Sindkhed, Dhulia dt : We have come to know of your sincere work to dalits through DV. Untouchability is widespread in Maharashtra. We have to fight it. Miss Vibhuti Patel, Bombay : Enclosed a clipping of the Sunday Observer (Feb. 28) which carries an interview of Sadaji vatial Chandulal, treasurer of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Do write a reply to this in DV.
G. Rama Rao, ex-MLA, Gudivada, AP : We wish DV will give a death-blow to Hinduism which for 5,000 years has kept crores of people under constant misery & fetters, Indians should be ashamed of Hindusim. The Shankaracharyas, stone- gods on hilltops and Manu Smriti must be destroyed. Otherwise there is no slavation for dalits. Change of religion is not illegal or irreligious and those obstructing dalits changing religion shall be fought. We will be serving Ambedkar cause if we do this.
R. R. Wankhede, Sibsagar I am here since five years. This is a dt. hqrs. Ahom people comprising SC & ST form 30% of the population of this district. DV can help educate this people.
