Walter Mueller, PO Box-191677, Sacramento, CA -95819: Dear fellow patriots, Dalit Voice is the magazine for the “Voice of the Persecuted Nationalities Denied Human Rights. Welcome to India, because that is where this amazing revisionist magazine originates. It was forwarded to me by Ms. Chris Miller. She is a columnist for the Community News, when she is not busy keeping her city out of breath. I was absolutely amazed when I read the Dalit Voice. The publisher is VT. Rajshekar, who will now receive the Community News, courtesy of Christine Miller. One article in particular caught my eyes, entitled Hitler not worst villain of 20th century as pointed by Zionists. The article was written by Iqbal Ahmed Shariff, a staff writer of Dalit Voice. An awesome article In it. Shariff writes:
Adolf Hitler was a great German patriot. Germans are one of the proudest peoples in the world. Such proud peoples today say they are tired of being reminded time and time again of their countries “crimes” against Jews. What is forgotten is the Jews, who say they once suffered under nazis and became the worst victim of war and violence, have surpassed the nazis in killing Palestinians. The purpose of anti-Hitlerism is to absolve themselves of their horrible past crimes. They want the world to believe that Hitler alone was wrong. And they were, are and will be wrong”
Community News will reprint the entire article in its October issue. So there is Holocaust revisionism in India.
Al Masari (list@tajdeedmail.net): Move over Pat Robertson. The racist Rabbi says Black hurricane victims deserved to die. Following Evangelical hate preacher Pat Robertson, who recently asked the US Govt. to murder President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. If Tony Blair wants to crack down on “preach ers of hate” entering Britain he should start with the Israeli chief Rabbi who said that Katrina’s victims suffered “because they have no god”. singling out Black people. “It was god’s contribution. God does not shortchange anyone”, said Rabbi Ovadia Yosef during his weekly sermon broadcaste on Israeli TV. He also preached that the hurricane was god’s punishment for President George W. Bush’s support to Israel’s Gaza pullout. Rabbi Yosef is the spiritual leader of the Shas Party which currently holds 11 seats in the 120-seat Israeli parliament and a member of Ariel Sharon’s govt. The Rabbi once called Palestinians. “snakes” and called for the annihilation of Arabs at a Passover sermon in 2001.
Dr. Parvez Khan, Bahnhonforplataz-2a, 50667, Koln, Germany. I have received two issues of Dalit Voice along with your latest book, Shape of the Things to Come, and two pamphlets Muslims & Mustadafeen and West Losing War on Muslims. I have read the Shape book and personally speaking I agree with your around 90%. I was quiet surprised to see that one of your contributors to DV is Brigadier Usman Khalid who is a well known figure not just in England hut in the rest of Europe also. He is a regular contributor on many Yahoo groups and I read all his messages because they are full of wisdom and truth. He is heading the London Institute of South Asia. Usman Khalid is a very respected figure among the academics and intellectuals in many countries particularly in Germany and Holland. The initial study of DV tells me that you are not afraid of telling the truth and are quite fearless. Don’t you get trouble from the Brahmin fascists and the Indian police regarding your truth-telling and “controversial” writings in DV? In this country, DV may not be liked, because it contains very strong truth which will not be considered acceptable to the Dutch people. I have now decided to photocopy it and spread it among the Dutch journalists in Holland and German journalists in Germany to spread the message of DV. It is essential that the entire world sees the true face of Brahmin fascism and come to the realization that India is a fascist country and not the “largest democracy of the world”, as is falsely propagated by the Brahmin elites in India. Germany also may not accept DV because of the truth expressed in it, especially the article that Hitler saved Germany from disaster. Hitler and his entire history is a very, very sensitive topic in Germany and there are many, many laws forbidding the propagation of certain aspects of Hitler’s life. I will hand over DV to the Hindorama magazine editor also who is an Indian Hindu. There are some other Hindu organizations in Amsterdam and I will send them the DV photocopy. We live in Germany and Holland both and we will spread DV in both countries, but in Amsterdam there are more Hindus than in Koln. Germany, where we also live. Furthermore, the Hindus in Amsterdam come, not just from India but also from Surinam which is located next to Brazil in South America and which was the Dutch colony for 300 years. Dutch society in the past used to be very tolerant but now it has become quite racist and fascist particularly after the Dutch film producer, Theo Gangogh (pronounced theo vango), who made an abusive film against Islam. He was subsequently shot and stabbed to death in broad day ligha in central Amsterdam by a Moroccan, Mohammed Bouyeri, who just last month got life imprisonment. Things are quite bad here now and fascism is growing very fast in Sultan Ibrahim (sultanofpeace@yahoo.com): On May 3, 2004, Louis Farrakhan warned President Bush that he needed to pull the troops out of Iraq or the US would be hit with destructive weather. The hurricane season of 2004 was unusually active and destructive for the US. What message can we learn from Hurricane Katrina? According to the news commentators Katrina could be the most destructive, expensive and deadliest storm ever to hit America. Katrina hit densely populated areas where the majority of the people who were left behind were Black. Yet the story about Katrina really began after she had passed over. The real story is how the people and in particular the US Govt. responded to the calls for help from her citizens. I like many others sat and watched (Aug.29) this tragedy unfold as the mayor of New Orleans begged for help from the federal govt. Katrina answers the question of whether Black people need a movement. We need a movement towards a plan for the total freedom and liberation of our people as Minister Farrakhan has proposed in the form of the Millions More Movement.
Dr. Jagadish, C/o Stanley Joseph. Panagair House, NKS Road. Near Anglo Indian School, Vadudhula, Cochin 682 023: This letter is addressed to all brothers and sisters of DV family especially those from the Northern States like Haryana. It is a warning sign for all the oppressed classes of India especially Dalits, Muslims and Christians and oppressed Backward Castes. Gohana is a second incident after the killing of a cow in Haryana that Dalits are tortured. It is high time that all oppressed community leaders and people organize themselves to fight against the oppressors. At this point of junction we must first Agitate (protest) against these atrocities all over India. We should give at least some moral support to all those victims in Haryana. We should form Dalit Voice groups via email so that we can be aware of the happenings to Dalits and oppressed people in the country. Congratulations to Sister Vasantha Kandasamy for the successful protest in IIT. Madras. We are with you, madam, for your brave fight against the oppressors. There is no salvation for the oppressed Dalit people unless they quit Hinduism and accept a religion which is universal to the mankind.
As you are a conscious Dalit and trained in DV line of thinking you can do a lot for us in Cochin the heart of Kerala where the Dalits and Ezhvas are fast getting hinduised. We remember we falked about what you can do for us in Kerala when you met us here But you were silent. Those who have the commitment have to suffer for it and sacrifice for it. Tell us how you can help spread DV message in Kerala? – EDITOR
Anju Kaur. Voice for Freedom: Simranjit Singh Mann, former Member of the Lok Sabha who was just released on bail after being arrested for sedition and treason for giving a call for the self-determination of the Sikhs, says that his bail conditions are harsh as they restrict his freedom of speech and movement. “I feel I have been sentenced before I am found guilty”. he told “Voices for Freedom in a telephone interview. “It could take many years to dispose the live cases which have been trumped up against me. By taking away my passport the authorities have effectively gagged me and taken away my freedom of movement and express”, he said. Mann was in custody since June when he was arrested and charged with seven others for sedition and treason. Three of the other seven men are still in custody in Patiala and Bathinda prisons. He was charged for “waging a war against the Govt. of India”. (info@voicesforfreedom. org).
J.R. Antwal. RZ-51, South Extn., Part-III, Uttam Nagar. New Delhi-110059: Finally our Editor, V.T. Rajshekar, has received that great international award of glory for his relentless, outstanding services to Dalits, BCs, ST and all other weakest people of India. Unfortunately the award was not given by the Indian Govt. or anybody inside India but by outside. Congratulations on your 25-year-long-educational and directional services which has moulded the intellect of teaming millions of Indians and outsiders and exposed the myths of the India’s mentally sick upper caste. Had they not been sick the caste prejudices would have gone, root and branch long back.
Sher Singh, IAS. Flat No. 32. 247/1 Minto Park. Alipore, Calcutta 700 027: The United Nations has taken note of the caste-based sacred-racism of Hindus. Great news. S.L. Virdi, advocate, Phillaur in Jullundher dt. of Punjab, is a regular writer in DV. His weekly paper, Vigyanic Soch, dated Aug 12, 2005 reports that UN Human Rights Commission passed a resolution on April 19. 2005 appointing two special commissioners to look into the caste-based discrimination being practised in some countries. The names of these two special officers are Yojo Yokota, and Ms. Chin-Sung-Chun, and they are to submit the report within three years. The champions of the caste-based discrimination (racism) will be up in arms against this UN Commission of Inquiry. Our Dalit brothers must be fully prepared. The UN resolution No. 2784 (XXVI) Dec 6, 1971 titled “Elimination of all forms of racial discrimination says:
Reiterating its conviction that any doctrine of exclusiveness based on racial differentiation or ethnic or religious superiority is scientifically false, morally condemnable and socially unjust.
What is racial discrimination? The UN at its “international Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Racial Discrimination” dated Jan. 19, 1965 says:
Art 1 (1). In this convention the term “racial discrimination” shall mean any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, color, descent or national or ethnic origin which has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment or exercise, on an equal footing of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural or any other field of public life.
The caste-based discrimination is based on birth (1.c. descent) and denies social equality to the Dalits. They should demand that the very mention of the word “caste” should be declared a non-bailable and cognisable offence carrying 7 years rigorous imprisonment. Man is man, equal in all respects. What is this nonsense of caste? It can only be used by deranged minds in the 21st century.
Praful Sakya c/o Appa Bibwe, Trimurti Sadan, Plot No.12, Sadanand Society. Bibwe wadi. Pune 411 037: The newspapers are carrying on a tirade against reservation.
The dark and ugly demon of reservation has been looming over the future of our sons and we see no hope of its end it is now here to stay to wobble our existence.
This pithy line sums up the frustration of privileged Indians and they often vent it in the forms of protest rallies or letters to the Editor with headlines like: “When will reservation end?” or “revoke reservation” or “scrap reservation”. The privileged upper castes hate reservations. The industrial heavy weights like the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), and Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) are all against reservations. All men and women are created equal, yet everywhere one finds some are more equal than the other. We have mastered the technique to take refuge in meritocracy-of-convenience which is time and again being used as a mother of all industrial invention to avoid social responsibilities. The messengers of meritocracy under the guise of self-proclaimed meritocracy-for-betterment brazenly chide the underprivileged (mostly the victims of the caste based-structured Hindu Social Order) at every step, by their oft-repeated theory “survival of the fittest” without giving any heed to the fact that whether that so-called fittest is good for the society as a whole or not. The moment Indian society turned into a caste-based-structured Hindu social order, its civilization decayed and it became easy prey to invaders. Al-Buruni, the gifted 11th century scholar employed in the court of Mahmud of Ghazni, wrote:
The Hindus believe that there is no country but theirs, no nation like theirs, no religion like theirs no science like theirs, no kings like theirs. They are haughty, foolishly vain, self-conceited and stolid. If they traveled and mixed with other nations they would soon change their mind for their ancestors were not so narrow minded as the present generation is.
The English conquered India with the help of the Indians only the Madras Regiments against the Marathas and Bengalis: Madrasi and Bihari regiments against the Sikhs and Punjabi Mussalman against the mutineers, Without the Indian co-operation such a small body of men could Not have administered so vast a country inhabited by so diverse a people. They divided Indians, they divided us on things like “Hindu water” and “Muslim water” or Hindu university and Muslim university etc. We Indians had never been a nation: we were divided by our religion, race, caste and languages. The masses of our people were indifferent, frequently hostile to the upper castes who monopolized the leadership; our princes owed loyalty only to themselves and very often more eager to see the downfall of their rivals than forwarding their own interest. The British did not divide a united India. They united a divided India, But unfortunately we in our action and choice remained a country of divided people. We made the tragic welcome posture in which a colonial power stepped in. So, if the question arises who is guilty for all this or the long spells of slavery? Is it, perhaps the social setting of caste-biased-structured-Hindu-social-order? The question is how only the upper castes have heen enjoying the fruits of the toils of the “freedom struggle” equally waged by Indian masses. The many invaders who ruled this country must have thanked the upper caste attitude of ever-hostility towards the lower castes that might have made their task much easier. It is really difficult to understand why a country ruled by so many foreign invaders, did not spark a feeling or act for change in their own life-style or the more socio-economic gains? Were those millions of underprivileged sons of the mother India socially configured only to be get oppressed by the rulers of the respective times or was it because of the social settings of the Hindu caste-based society structure that only allows the protections to a very few? During the foreign invasions they were subjected to brutal and blind force; afterwards to laws which had the same force but only disguised. The RSS is happy with its ideological circle of “national culturalism” of varying degrees of internal contradictions. The CPM follows economic policies that projects themselves as messiahs of poor but it is designed to keep as many Indians in poverty for as long as possible. The Congress which tasted the power more than any other party and once was at the helm of the affairs of India’s “freedom struggle” does nothing more than indulging itself into communal or what in short called as politics of appeasement. The Indian bureaucracy makes “development” plan by which they make their own development. No proper utilization of funds and the public distribution system is at its worst. Industrialists and contractors with the support of politicians are busy supplying substandard products to the govt-tun organizations and infrastructure development projects. Municipal corporations are busy cooking the books of accounts and showing the losses to the corporations and inability to develop the city according to the development plans. Backward community leaders keep shouting at the top of their voices with the aid of loud speakers that they have been marginalized or victimized. Newspapers carry reports and analysis as per the dictum of their owners. IITians, IIMians and doctors busy migrating abroad after getting subsidized educations by giving an excuse that the govt. has been doing nothing about the infrastructures and jobs. Since our accepted scale of values, illegal acquisition of wealth, evasion of taxes, corruption, lying, treachery even commission of crimes are accepted norms in the society that gives us a license to loot the public money. Isn’t all this sound like our “unity in diversity” that we all swear by?
K. Mukundan, Peruvattur, Koyilandy 673 305: DV carries the name of Brother V. Prabhakaran as our Calicut representative but nowadays he does not write anything in DV. Besides, he does not like anybody contacting him. What happened to him? We do not know where he lives. Do you have any connection with him? He does not give even his address or telephone number to our people. Once Gopinath Meppayil told me that Prabhakaran and the Editor had some differences on Arundathi Roy and her social work. I would like to know the problem. You have written so many articles on “caste identity”. If you publish it as a book it will be useful.
Brother Prabhakaran is living in Calicut and is in touch with us. During our last visit we visited his house, met his family and spent some time. He does not want to meet his old Dalit colleagues because he feels they have let him down and do not remember his services to the Dalit movement. We remember our frequent visits to Kerala bout 15 yeas back it was all at the instance of Prabhakaran. In Kerala Dalits used to then admit that it was Prabhakaran who gave the intellectual input to launch the Dalit movement in Kerala. But as the movement grew with the launch of Malayalam Dalit Voice many Dalit leaders were groomed. And we had lot of activities all over the state. Perhaps the Brahminical forces played some mischief to bring about a split between Prabhakaran and others. When the Dalit leaders brought up in this movement disowned him, he was naturally upset. From then on he withdrew completely. Brahminical forces waiting for such a divide conspired to ease him out of the govt job he was holding and thereby financially crippled him. He had to undergo lot of suffering at the hands of Hindu nazis in the govt. At this critical moment also our Dalit brothers did not come to his rescue. Nor did the Muslim leadership come to his aid despite the fact he did so much to promote Dalit-Muslim unity. Today he is in a terrible crisis, his family in distress, financially crippled and mentally disturbed. Brother Prabhakaran’s services to Kerala Dalit movement cannot be forgotten. He brought out lot of literature in Malayalam, translated many of our books. He used to accompany Kanshi Ram during Kerala tours and translate his speeches. His contribution to Kerala Dalit movement need to be recorded and respected. But we are an ungrateful people His life and work is part of Kerala’s history. Kerala Dalit movement itself is in bad shape today because people who served and suffered for Dalits like Prabhakaran are forgotten in the interest of reviving the Dalit movement we have to bring back Prabhakarn by rescuing him from aloofness. It is possible and we will be too willing to do it-EDITOR.
Asfaq Husain Ansari, 306 Wazirabad, Gorakhpur-273 015: We have submitted a 107-page memorandum to the National Commission for Religious & Linguistic Minorities headed by Justice Ranganath Misra. li deals in details with the questions particularly related to the Backward Muslims. Those interested may write to me.
Ramesh Rangari, Mahasagar, Flat No. 103, Sector-4. Charkop, Kandi Wali (W), Bombay-400 067: Thank you for publishing my Letter in DV June 16, 2005. Anybody who is running a trade union on the philosophy of Fule-Ambedkar may contact me on my email address for getting their trade union affiliated to our All-India Independent Labour Union. (ramesh_rangari@yahoo. co.in).
Vijay Kumar, H.No. 5-12-337/1, Priyadarshini Colony, Nalgonda-508001: I read your books, Caste- — A Nation Within the Nation, Weapons to Fight Counter Revolution. Shape of the Things to Come. I am a poor Dalit graduate. I want to read all the writings of Babasaheb Ambedkar. Where can I get the books at a low price? I read your book. Why Go For Conversion, and the Riddle of Rama & Krishna, and I am seriously reading our “Thus Spake Ambedkar” in DV. I agree that today Dalit “intellectuals”. Dalit politicians do not know what Babasaheb has said and they never read his writings. It is your writings which opened my mind and made me think of my people. (mv_kumar2@rediffmail.com).
Raju Thomas, Post Box 2296, Madras-600 023: Two more chapters of the book. Caste — A Nation Within the Nation, are yet to be translated to Malayalam and then I will hand over the MS to either Dalit Bandhu or Manjoor Goplan or we three will sit together for the final touch. I am sure this translation of your international award-winning book will create turmoil in Kerala and the communist parties (CPM and CPI) will attack us. Now itself they are angry with you. That means we have made our enemy attack us and he should attack us severely. That shows we are capable of achieving our goal. I forgot the exact quotation of Mao which you have written in Who is Ruling India?. Mayawati’s function at Kottayam was a grand success and there is hope for the BSP in Kerala in the coming days.
The Caste book, though blacked out by the Brahminical media, has created history. This is what the publishers tell us: Even its second edition is sold out. The publishers want us to write a revised and enlarged edition. Its Kannada edition is solling like hat cakes Hindi is getting ready-EDITOR.
Anil Rangari, Bharati Apartment, Gurunanak Nagar, Durg-491 001: This concerns the Debate on socio-cultural revolution vs. politicl revolution. I agree with your comment that the struggle for political power has to go hand-in-hand with socio-cultural movement (DV Dec. 1, 2004 p.23-27), I want to cite few thoughts of De Babasaheb Ambedkar to clear some doubts. Babasaheb said:
Political power is the key to all social progress and the Scheduled Castes can achieve their salvation if they captured this power by organizing themselves into a third party and holding the balance of power between the rival political parties. (Thus Spake Ambedkar, Vol. 1. p.81)
He also said that:
We must resolve that in the free India of the future, we will be a ruling race… Unless we had the political power in our hands we would have no hope to bring about the desire improvement in the condition of the poverty stricken people (p. 77)
The above words prove that we must seize political power but to seize it he wanted us to first bring socio-cultural revolution. He said:
I think it necessary here to discuss what should be given priority, economic progress or conversion. I do not agree with the view that economic progress should precede conversion. This question whether the religious conversion should precede economic progress or economic progress should precede religious conversion are to my mind as worthless as the question of political reform versus social reform. Various methods are necessary for the development and progress of society. Each of these methods has its own importance. No definite seriations can be applied for the use of these methods. If, however, anybody insists on such seriations with regard to conversion and economic reform, I will place the former as the first. (Ibid Vo.4, p. 54).
Why social reform first? Babasaheb wrote two chapters in his book. Annihilation of Castes, where he said:
History bears out the proposition that political revolution have always been preceded by social and religious revolutions If the source of power and dominion is at any given time or in any given society social and religious then social reform and religious reform must be accepted as the necessary sort of reform. (Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, W&S, Vol. 1. p. 43-45).
Most of the Bahujan politicians do not know the real meaning of ruling-race. Go and write on your walls that our final goal is to become ruling race, said Babasaheb What does it mean? It means to become the ruling race we must have at least four powers: (1) political power. (2) administrative power (higher bureaucracy), (3) judicial power and (4) media power. We have none but Dalit-Bahujan workers/leaders rushing towards “political power” forgetting other powers which control the political power. The Congress committed the political murder of RPI and each part of the broken RPI has committed political suicide. The Budhist Society of India under the chairmanship of Meera Tai Ambedkar has also committed suicide. Now, look at BSP. It is the political party of Dalit-Bahujans but most of its workers/leaders are anti-Ambedkarite in thought and action. This is the drawback of BSP. That is why BSP does not work for socio-cultural and religious revolution. They must listen to Babasaheb’s warming:
They know full well that if the Hindu Social Order is to fall to the ground, it can happen only under two conditions. Firstly, the social order must be subjected to constant fire. Secondly, they can’t subject it to constant fire unless they are independent of the Hindus in thought and in action.
Lalu Prasad’s and Mulayam Singh’s movement may be anti-Congress-BJP but they are Gandhiwadi and Hindutva wadi, so it is also brahmanwadi and anti-Ambedkarite. Nobody can hope from them socio-cultural and religious revolution. Without collective and planned struggle of well-organized, committed and intellectual workers no movement can succeed. The lack of collective, dedicated and selfless workers/leaders is the mot cause for defeat of any movement. Corrupted, co opted and anti-Ambedkarite Dalit-Bahujan workers/leaders are a curse on any Bahujan movement. When we do not start and run simply libraries to supply Ambedkarite literature to our people how can we think socio-cultural and religious revolution? There are so many big Budha Vihars and Ambedkar Bhawans in India but all of them are used only for worship or marriages, No organization or association thinks of social center.
The “Sun set on Dalit-Bahujan world”, as you have rightly predicted.
Lulu Lili (arif_jamia@rediffmail.com): At last the revolutionary sections among Muslims are happy that our desire is going to be fulfilled because Islam is about to devour the so far unchallenged US super power. And cutting its tail (Britain) down to size. Muslims must be therefore grateful to US, Britain and their allies for dispensing such a great favor to Islam by invading Iraq, trespassing upon Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan and spreading a massive propaganda campaign against Islam to belittle and malign it which has revived the “Spirit of Islam”. Islamic scholars and Muslim religious leaders of the world put together could not have stirred this original hidden strength of Islam in the Muslims of this corrupt and polluted atmosphere of today that I am now seeing in them. For all that the credit goes to none but to US and its stupid allies. They have really rejuvenated Islam. I know this was not their intention to do that. This all happened only because of their ignorance, arrogance and stupidity. I thank America and its allies for waking up Muslims and making them turn the pages of Islamic history and Quran.
Mona Das, President, Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union, New Delhi-110067: This is to express our strong protest against the unjust and arbitrary denial of admission to Masood Alam to the Direct Ph.D. programmed in Arabic in the current academic session. Though he was selected by due process for the above programmer for days the JNU Admission Branch (AB) refused to publish the results. It was only when the Arabic Centre wrote to the Admission Branch urging them to publish the results were the results finally put up-as late as on Aug 21 (when the last date for admission was Aug. 16). However, Masood Alam’s name did not figure in that list. The Arabic Centre once again wrote to the AB on the next working day Aug. 16 intimating. that the Centre had selected Masood Alan and asking that he be granted admission. In spite of this, it continued to refuse admission. They now cited the ground that Masood Alam does not meet the eligibility criteria of having a gap period between his MA and direct Ph.D. From where has the AB discover the criterion of gap period between MA and Ph.D. admissions? Is it in the Ordinance? Is it advertised in the prospectus for direct PhD programme?
S. Haque, Patna: Here is a case of the poisonous role played by our Brahminical “national” media:
“A film roll contained 32 snaps all of terrorists brandishing AK-47 rifles and wireless sets, the dress of terrorists suggests they seems to be form J&K or Pok Home Minister Shivraj Patil had admitted in Rajya Sabha the connection between Western UP and various terrorist organisations”.
This is a report in the Hindustan Times (Sept.20, 2005) on its page 1 from its Brahmin reporter from Muzaffarnagar under the headline “Deoband in J&K terror frame. It carried four pictures of “terrorists”, and adds the UP Govt. issued a statewide alert in sensitive district. This is the case of a “national” English daily spitting poison against Muslims Deoband houses one of India’s biggest Muslim madrasas, the Birla’s Marwari paper wanted to link Deoband’s Darul-Uloom with terrorists. But the very next day the same paper on inside page (p.9) headlined “Mystery photograph not terrorists” denied the whole story. The army has clarified that these “mysterious” photographs belonged to a police officer. The Brahminical people with their monopoly media are systematically maligning the Muslims.
Ghulam Muhammed, IDRAAK. Seacroft. Shirley Ranjan Road, Bandra (W), Bombay-400 050: The Times of India editorial headlined “Stop Talibising” (Aug 20, 2005) is the worst example of media sensationalizing and demonizing Islam, a religion which is part and parcel of Indian polity for more than a millennium. No week passes without the media dutifully projecting one or other development in Muslim society with shrieking headlines and convoluted analyses, to enrage and infuriate India’s peaceful Muslim population. Yesterday it was madrasas. today it is Shariat court, tomorrow it will be fat was on burqas or cow-slaughter. The scheduling of media targeting on Indian and Indian Muslims is all worked up and bulging over into a self-sustaining propaganda machine. By demonizing Muslims at this critical juncture of a new economic dawn India’s media is becoming willing tools to rendering India open to US hegemonical stranglehold that is something not hidden from the editors of India’s leading national English newspapers and its owners. Playing politics with Indian Muslims in these times is bound to be most unproductive and render Muslims open to exploitation by other international misadventures. Probably that too is the deliberate design of the destabilizers of India. (ghulam_muhammed20 yahoo.co.in).
The Times is owned by the Jain Marwaris and they do everything in their caste-class interests. The entire mass media is in the hands of Brahminical people who have to be anti-Muslim. But at least 5% Muslims are stinking rich. Why they did not start any paper to counter these monsters? The Brahminical media is doing its duty. But the Muslims are not doing their duty. We have here in Bangalore one of the country’s richest man. Hashim Premi employing only Brahmins in his shop. We are sorry, India’s Musan leadership is also pro-Brahmin- EDITOR.
Gopal Chandra Biswas, West Kodalia (Balaka Lane), PO New Barrackpur, 24 Parganas (N) dt. Calcutta -700 131: That cultural revolution alone is not sufficient to improve the condition of the poor and the Dalits, says Dr. Bharat Jhunjhunwala. But still there is one paradox associated with India’s caste system which is the root of all evils including the racist exploitation of Dalits. The caste system has conditioned the mind of every Dalit from centuries. The caste system is a religiously imposed socio-cultural system which can be destroyed only by a cultural revolution. Following pro-poor economic policy has no meaning because caste system influences those implementing such policy. He asks Dulits to strengthen the “national government”. Fine. Dalits are doing it at all times. Dalits are the most law-abiding citizens always supporting the govt
Prof. T.B. Vijayakumar, Thekkemeppilly House, Perinchery, Thrissur 680 306: 1 just read the book, Interpreting Kerala’s Social Development, by G. Aloysius (Critical Quest. 420-Phase 6. Aya Nagar. G Block. New Delhi-110047. Rs. 20). Kerala is a state of contrasts. The region is noted for high literacy and healthcare, low rate of infant mortality, low rate of infertility, high rate of life expectancy. But in agriculture, industry, science and technology, innovation and creativity. entrepreneurship, intellectualism, the Kerala society is retarded, stagnated and suppressed. Kerala is a desert intellectually, culturally and economically. The upper castes including Syrian Christians have converted Kerala into a “lunatic asylum” which are the words of a sudra sanyasi, Swami Vivekananda. Not only that. They converted it into a brothel house. Savarna intellectual prostitutes are plenty. Medieval and early modern Malayalam literature testifies this statement. In the 15th and 16th centuries degradation of Kerala reached its zenith, unheard of anywhere in the world. The Namboothiri Brahmins masterminded the whole show From the 12th to 16th centuries is called the “Namboothiri Age”. The Namboothiri population dwindled in Kerala because of their peculiar marriage system that only the eldest male member produces the Namboothiri offspring and other male members produce only non-Namboothiri population like the Neirs through their notorious sambhandham system. The Neirs, which is a major sudra caste, surrendered their entire women folk including their wives, daughters, sisters. grandmothers to Namboothiri’s. The Namboothiri’s exploited them sexually at their will and pleasure. At present the Nair caste group is a hotch-potch society. The Neirs take pride in it. Situation changed only after the second half of the 20th century. During “Sangam Age”, Kerala was part of the Tamil country. Malayalam language is derived from Tamil. Historically Kerala had a glorious Budhist, Jaina past. Even now we can detect its influence in Kerala society especially in the field of culture and education. Kerala’s sudden spurt in mass literacy and education is due to this.
Palashchandra Biswas (palashchandra@sify.com): In 1947, when the partition of India was discussed, the Brahminical Congress and Manavadi forces saw a big opportunity in it and hence a conspiracy was hatched to identify the areas from where the people of Bengal had got Babasaheb Ambedkar elected to the Constituent Assembly and separate that area from the Brahminical Bengal to maintain the supremacy of Brahmin dominance in all spheres of life in “independent” India. A majority of Mulnivasi Dalit people lived in the region which was separated as pre-planned. But the Dalit-Muslim majority-based East Bengal rejected the partition proposal. But the West Bengal Brahminical leaders succeeded to separate Bengal. In those areas given to East Pakistan the non-Muslim population consisted of “lower caste” Dalit-Mulnivasi Bengalis. This is the historical background of an extremely mischievous and heinous act to separate Mulnivasi Dalit Bengalis from their motherland India. With the partition, the infamous power game began and the Brahminical ruling class grabbed the state power. Riots began systematically across the border. Thousands and thousands of refugees from both sides of Pakistan crossed over the border. Those who belonged to the ruling class got all opportunities to resettle. Brahminical leaders who migrated from Pakistan grabbed the political system. Many of them later became “national” and state leaders. They ensured the rehabilitation of their upper caste people in West Bengal. They got huge financial support and resettled them in big cities allover India. But the Mulnivasi Dalits were scattered all over the country and dumped in remote areas, dense forests of UP, MP. Andhra. Orissa and Andaman-Nicobar islands. Dalits were scattered all over the states like Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Bihar, Assam, Tripura and Tamil Nadu too. The holocaust and bloodshed in Punjab were no less than Bengal. But the exodus from West Pakistan stopped at once. The Punjabi refugees were resettled and adjusted with the mainstream. Thanks to the Punjabi leadership, all refugees from West Pakistan got Indian citizenship. But the exodus from East Pakistan continued as the Govt. of India and West Bengal never cared for the refugee: Mulnivasi Dalits. Even those who came over in 50s lived on dole in different camps and rehabilitated could not get Indian citizenship even to this day. Outside Bengal, they were deprived of constitutional reservation and opportunity to learn mother tongue Bengali. All over India, the non-Bengali population is sympathized and supported well. But the continuous inflow of refugees, crossing the border and converting into permanent vote bank of the ruling classes changed the scenario. The Bengali upper caste Brahminical leadership ensured the favourable demography to promote power game. On the other hand they also wiped out the Mulnivasi Dalit Bengalis from the history of geography of Bengal. The Bengali leaders never visited Bengali Dalit refugees outside Bengal. Whatever they succeeded to get. was got with the support of non-Bengali leadership and people. No MP from Bengal and or the Bengal Govt. and political parties ever demanded the rights of partition victims including their citizenship, reservation, rehabilitation, general development, civic facilities and learning mother tongue Bengali. No wonder, the Brahminical MPs from Bengal belonging to the Right and Left Parties did support the new Black Citizenship Amendment Bill 2003 in Parliament and passed it.

Pankaj Dey, c/o Bishnudeo Prasad, Bhaghar, Baracham, Gaya 824 201: I received Dalit Voice and your other literature. I know that the Hindu society is totally corrupted because its structure is like a pyramid, the base of which is the Dalit and its peak Brahmins. Those standing on the top of the pyramid always hold those at the bottom with contempt. That is how the Dalits are exploited economically, mentally and socially. I want to know which religion will help Dalits to lead a life of dignity, I want to know the social structures of all religions.
