New Delhi: K.N. Singh, who retired two days ago as chief justice of India, passed a series of orders, favouring the Jain Shudh Vanaspati group, in seven different cases in eight months.
In favour of those cases, K.N. Singh, as the senior judge of various benches, passed the final orders which benefited the group (of the beef tallow fame) to the tune of about Rs. 8 crores. (Times of India, Dec. 16).
