This refers to the book, Brahminism (DSA-2002), by our Editor V.T. Rajshekar, in which he has a chapter on “Brahminical origin of zionist thoughts” (p.139) and the article of Venu Paswan, “Jewish origin of Brahmin race” (DV April 16, 2003, p.8).
| agree with Brother Paswan only on certain points but his view that the Brahmin race originated from the Jewish race is not acceptable to some scholars.
The original Brahmins are Aryans who had six gotras, but eight according to the Shanti Parva of the Mahabharata. They are also known as sweat (white). The Rigveda and the Vedic varna system are the creations of these Brahmins.
In the Rigveda, the Vasistas are described as Swetyam or White, Kanvas as svovo or Krishna (dark). RV VII-33-1 and X-31-11).
This view gets the support of R.P. Chanda, who assets:
“There were two sections of sacerdotal class, Brahmana by descent, Brahmana by adoption and they were of different physical type. Black Rishis were related to the native tribe like Yadus, Purus, Druhyus and Turvasas etc., who may have come from Western Asia.”
Raj-Rishis: There were city-states in the Indus Valley like the Sumerian. The king of the city-state was aliso the chief priest of the city temple. It means he was a king as well as a priest, known as Raj -Rishi in later Hindu tradition. ” In Budhist period, these people were Budhist or Jain in general. When in the early centuries of Christian era, they were Aryanised, they being Raj Rishi became Brahmins in pre-Gupta period and Rajputs in later period.
Satavahanas and Vakatakas who were Nagas in origin later became Brahmin. In fact, these Black Brahmins were priests of every artisan guild or sangha and as such after the Aryanization they became priests of their castes to which they were ethnically related.
Dr. Ambedkar’s view: According to Dr. Ambedkar, in the early period these Black native priests despite all their efforts were not recognised as Brahmin. Only in the later Upanishad period they were given such a recognization. But this did not much effect their social status because the White Aryan Brahmin refused to establish relation of rotiand beti (inter-dining and inter- marrying) with them. This tradition is continuing still in the modern age. It means they were treated like other sudras by the White Aryan Brahmins.
So, it is proved that these Black Brahmins were promoted from the native non-Aryan priests and were of different racial origin. But they were numerically larger than the White Brahmins. Kautilya, Manu, Sunga and Kanva were native Brahmins.
Aryans as fire worshippers: However, to support my view | have some more evidence:
(1) The natives belonged to matriarchal tradition, but the Aryans were patriarchal which is continuing,
(2) There was a casteless society in Western Asia, as well as in the native Sangha society of India.
(3) Fire-worship was not prevalent among the natives. This was the foundation of Vedic religion, and it is continuing as part of their Hindu religion today also.
(4) Western Asia and the native Sangha did not believe in immortality of soul or rebirth. The former buried their dead. Cremation was a recent change over because of imitating the Aryans.
(5) D.N. Majumdar says a remarkable feature of the Brahmin society is the high frequency of A-blood group, which is 29.6 in them. High frequency of A- blood group developed in Eurasia among fair-skinned Aryan race millions of years ago. But the Kshatriyas have such frequency only of 21.75. This shows the Brahmins have much closer ethnical relation with the fair-skinned Aryans of Eurasia. This is scientific evidence that cannot be challenged.
So, it is proved that original Brahmins were Aryan who are responsible for creation of varna and caste system. – In my book, Nagas, The Ancient Rulers of India, | have discussed this subject. The subject needs a Debate in Dalit Voice.
