This refers to the Letter of Rahim Quraishi of Hyderabad (DV Jan. 16, 2010): “Dalits behind every anti-Muslim riot. As the Editor has appropriately responded to his anguish, let me too add few of my thoughts.
I accept his charges that the evil forces of RSS and BJP use our innocent, ignorant and pathetically poor people to beat and kill the Muslims. This is a fact. But one needs to go deeper into this grave issue and analyse the reasons behind this act.
When I was a school boy in Tirunelveli (Southern-most part of Caste India), I spent holidays in mostly Muslim- populated (80%) Melapalayam. Though I never faced untouchability or violence from Muslims, I never felt they completely rejected the evil Hinduism’s caste system. They talked to us freely, could freely move but would never allow us to enter their houses from the front door. They would come to our streets, but rarely enter our houses. If they ever did, they would not sit on our furniture, whatever we had. Only when I reached a high position I could enter a Muslim house and eat.
Muslims did not follow Quran: If only the Indian Muslims in India had followed the teachings of the Quran, there would never have been the evil caste system. The Muslims ruled India for 800 years. But the Muslim kings followed the advises of the Brahmins.
Even today, the Muslims treat the Dalits as Untouchables. They know that the Dalits are in utter poverty in every sense of the word. Not only financially but also intellectually.
What are the Muslims doing about this? They do not even think about it, except blaming the Dalits for every incident that they are facing.
Dalits are brain-dead: What are the evil Hindus doing with their ever submissive Dalits? The Dalits are so poor in every other field that they cannot even think as to why they are Untouchables and what they should do to get out of this evil system, even after a towering personality as Babasaheb tried to liberate them. The Dalits are brain-dead and so they do not have the capacity to even think as to why they are sub-humans. But the evil Hindus know the situation of the Dalits so well that if they throw some bones the Dalits will do anything to the master. If the Dalits refuse they will be simply exterminated. So if the evil Hindus tell the Dalits go and kill the Muslims they will blindly do it, like obedient dogs. You know very well that the Dalits cannot think. So how can the Muslims blame Dalits for all their sufferings?
When I was in USA I warned my Muslim friends that if they do not change their attitude and start treating the Dalits as their own brothers and sisters, sooner or later the evil Hindus will make sure the caste-India will not have Muslim population. The Hindus will use the unthinking Dalits to effectively exterminate the Muslims.
Muslims should not wait for the Dalits to approach them for friendship. They will not do it because they cannot think. If the Muslims do not act soon, my prediction will come true. Muslims must immediately work with the Dalits as brothers so that they can fight together as brothers and keep the Brahmins at bay and be on alert 24 hours a day as no one knows when the poisonous Hindu cobra will strike. Brother Rahmin Quraishi and his fellow Muslims are warned.
