New Delhi: The Ganga water is not yet safe for drinking. It is only fit for bathing purposes, with more than Rs. 297 crore having been spent so far over a period of six years on the operation cleaning of the mighty but dangerously polluted river under the Ganga Action Plan.(Hindustan Times Nov.7).
