Palghat: Five Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh activists were sentenced to five years’ rigorous imprisonment for murdering a CPI-M worker in February, 1986 due to political rivalry. The sentence was passed by Additional Sessions Judge P.S. Divakara on July 23. The conviction followed a retrial of the accused on a direction from the Kerala High Court. (Hindustan Times, July 25).
