Recently I visited Uganda for an international conference when Uganda saw worst kind of riots in Kampala. The Indian media reported as if the native Ugandans have become racist against the poor Indians. It failed to report that two Ugandans were killed in rioting. How can a community which has been victim of racism in the past and still facing discrimination in its own country could be called racist? Indian domination in the African countries is hated by the Africans. It is the Indians who practice racism and not vice versa.
Africans hate Asians particularly the Hindus who have brought caste system to Africa. They consider Africans as inferior.
Indian imperialism in the East African countries has hurt their relationship with local populace. Yet it reached the optimizing point, when Madhvani N. Mehta, the director of Sugar Corporation of Uganda Ltd., was granted over 9,000 hectares of Mabira Forest for developing another sugar factory. Indians control business in Uganda. The native Ugandans feel that the Indians exploit them. The violence against Indians is because Indians practice racism against the native Black Ugandans.
