Winston Churchill has rightly said that if the British quit India and India gets “independence” they will kill each other. The statement of the former British war time Prime Minister has come true. Caste system in India like a monster has multiplied the miseries of deprived Untouchables. M.K. Gandhi’s fanatical support to his barbarous and tyrannical caste system in his own words is worth repetition:
“The caste system in my opinion has a scientific basis; reason does not revolt against it. If it has disadvantages it also has advantages. Caste creates social and moral restraint. I can find no reason for their (castes) abolition to caste is to demolish Hinduism.
There is nothing to fight against varnashrama (caste system). I don’t believe caste system to be an odious and vicious dogma. It has its limitations and defects but there is nothing sinful about it”. (Harijan, 2-11- 38).
These words of Gandhi are based on prejudice. The deprived and persecuted class is subjected to barbarism and inhuman treatment. The reason he pronounced to justify caste system proves his puerile character.
Slaves of Brahmins: Gandhi was also quoted to have said:
“My mother would tell me that the shortest cut to purifications after the unholy touch of an untouchable was to cancel the touch by touching a Musalman passing by”.
Longing to keep Dalits under the Hindu fold unfolds his cunning and crafty attitude. Gandhi time and again played tricks against the Dalits. He did not do good to the Dalits. He defended the caste system to provide more muscles to the exploiting upper castes. He overtly and covertly dubbed the Dalits as the slaves of Brahmins.
Muslims hated: The ruling Brahminical Social Order since time immemorial just raised lot of dust but not the level of the people. Gandhi failed at every front but successfully duped the oppressed Dalits. For all the services done to BSO, the Brahmins hailed him as their hero. The only reason for praising him was he defended their Hindu caste system that kept the Brahmin as the ruler. It is no secret that a mere 15% upper castes rule 85% of original inhabitants of India.
Gandhi’s attitude towards the Muslims, Christians and Dalits was exactly like Abraham Lincoln’s relations with the Negros of America. Gandhi advocated the division of labour and also gave a scientific background to defend it. But there was no division of labour but only the division of labourers. Gandhi, therefore, was a fox in the saint’s garb.
Confusing Sikhs: Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar had warned many times about the danger faced by Dalits from the upper castes and particularly Brahmins. He said our Enemy was fully aware of our strategy, but our own community did not understand its essentiality.
Hindu nazis are also trying to confuse the Sikhs. The Hindu nazi organisation RSS chief recently said Sikhism was a part of Hinduism and that the Guru Granth should be kept in Hindu temples. BSO thrives only by confusing its victims. No Sikh is ready to accept this proposal.
