I must congratulate Iqbal Ahmed Sheriff for his excellent article on Jamate-Islami (DV Aug. 16, 1991). I made some copies of this article and distributed to the Jamat supporters in Toronto.
I urge Muslims, Sikh, Christians and Dalit organizations to write the Noble Peace Prize Committee in Norway to nominate the Editor of DV for the award of the next Noble Peace prize for working for the cause of the down-trodden humanity. V.T. Rajasekhar’s name should also be recommended for the Faisal Award.
A few hundred enlarged copies of DV article have been distributed here among Jamat supporters, and they agree. This is just for your information for the good work you are doing.
Muslims should be aware of the people selling Washington Report, etc. They think selling some journals from Great Satan’s country is a Big Jehad, and they are going to liberate Kashmir and Palestine. They don’t support Dalit Voice, New Trend or Crescent International, the Voice of the Mustadafeen. They suffer from inferiority complex and feel proud to be the servants of the Great Satan. They even don’t care to find out about those 50 or so scholars who presented a memorandum for Human Rights in Saudi Arabia, whether they are dead or alive, they call themselves Muslims. The Prophet said a true Muslim is he who feels the pain of other Muslims, whether they be from Somalia, Palestine, Kashmir or Albania. Albanians are shot, injured and kicked out of Italy, but the vast rich empty lands of Libya and Saudi Arabia are closed to the Muslims. The Imams of the mosques in Canada have not a single word to say in khutbahs on these vital matters facing the ummah, perhaps they have to safeguard their pay cheques.
