Bangalore: A furious but fake debate is going on in the letters’ column of the Hindu, India’s chief brahminical daily, on a Tamil Brahmin’s article (Hindu Nov.8) criticising their own Aryan law-giver, Manu.
One P.V. Narayanaswamy in his “letter” in the Hindu (Nov.26) defends his jati judge and quotes their god Krishna saying in the Gita, “Chaturaanan Maya Shristam Gunkarma Vibha Yasha” (The four-fold order in society was created by me based on Guna and karma that is quality and Swadharma).
He points out that caste system was not created by Manu to help Brahmins.
Alright, alright If caste system is based not the jati but on the fundamental qualities (guna) of a person. Then why to this day no non-Brahmin has been made a Shankaracharya? We are not saying this post should be given to a non-Hindu SC/ST/BC. Even the Hindus belonging to the four-fold caste system did not get the chance to become a Shankaracharya, which has remined an exclusive Brahmin preserve.
Why for the past 2,000 years the Brahmins could not get one Kshatriya or Vaishya, their own Hindu fellows, to become a Shankaracharya?
Caste system was designed to help the Brahmins at the cost of others. Manu was the main culprit who aided and abetted this anti-human, anti-democratic sanctified racism. Any amount of defence is like the devil quoting the scripture.
