Dalits wasting time criticising vaidiks without proving to be role models
I felt very happy to read the July 1, 2001, DV guest editorial: “Why Dalits failed to defeat Brahmins? Expert diagnoses our weakness as lack of professional excellence”. It is thought provoking and makes us introspective.
We must learn a lot from this document on how to become true professionals whatever field we choose. What Dr. Ashok Bhoyar says is exactly true. We failed ourselves to prove our professional excellence.
Our Dalit people are good at enjoying the little crumbs They get through reservations. They won’t have any perspective plan or long-term goals to be achieved in order to become role models to our coming generations.
Lazy people: Our people are lazy, lacking will, not taking initiative, lacking self-respect, which is very vital according to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
They are also narrow-minded, wandering with petty differences, subcaste rivalry, jealousy towards each other (among Dalits), intellectually pygmies, our elite/rich Dalits failed in all fronts to lead us. They are selfish and self-centered personalities.
They won’t bother even about their children as well as our blood brothers. They won’t even try to be in limelight despite having access to all fields.
Learning from Blacks: They can prove their professional excellence in sports, medical fields, media and cinema. But they failed due to several reasons, as Dr. Bhoyar narrates in this excellent piece of article in DV.
We have to learn a lot from the US Blacks. What a wonderful achievement they have made through excellent hard work and dedication.
Politics as master-key: Despite such severe racial discrimination the Blacks proved to the world that they are superior in all fields. We can in see in the US the Blacks are on top in all fields — sports, dance, music, media, defence, business, TV and acting etc. They became multimillionaires. In politics too they are on the top. Can you believe it? I can give many more examples. Can we show such personalities in India ¥among our Dalits?
So, how can we say that political power is the key to all problems? Only after we prove our ability in all fields, can we acquire political power. We must exhibit that we too have become role models, film personalities, boxers, sportsmen, good educators, judges, lawyers, heroes, scientists, journalisis, economists, bodybuilders etc.
We must demonstrate our strength, superiority over dominant upper castes and Brahmins. We must outsmart them by defeating them psychologically, physically and by whatever means.
Instead of outsmarting and defeating the Brahmins, we are wasting all our time and energy criticising Brahmins and other Aryan upper castes. This amounts to destructive criticism but not constructive criticism.
We have to make them accept their defeat and make them agree that we too are no inferior, no less than the best of the people in the world.
Here, I want to say that whatever the difficulty may be, don’t leave the path. Go on. Whatever the discrimination may be, don’t give up the field which you have chosen. Be patient in that sphere. Work hard, become a restless soldier, have indomitable courage, show deep interest to prove your excellence, superiority. Defeat evil forces and the cunning crooks through your wonderful work. This is up to you to decide. Where there is a will there is a way.
This is the only way to prove that without dependence (reservation) we can come up in life, independently
