I have been a reader of DV for quite some time. When I first received the magazine, I could not understand how it reached me. After scratching my brain, I came to know that my name might have been recommended to you by Sardar Gurnam Singh Muktsar, editor, Begampure Da Bassi. For some time, I was reading his Punjabi-magazine but at a point of time some glaring differences arose concerning theories of religion and God. Both God and religion have been created by the ruling elites for their selfish purposes and the reality is quite the contrary.
The reality is that the god never came to the help of the needy and the oppressed even once from the times immemorial and he is not supposed to come. All the great minds in the world like Karl Marx, Russel,Budha, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar etc. have denied the existence of God and supported the morality theory. This is the result which I have retrieved from the writings and speeches of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. (I have read 3-4 volumes in original though not his Buddha & His Dhamma). But the Editor did not like my utterances against God and religion. He said I was unable to understand the theory of God under Sikhism. When he could not give satisfactory reply to my questions, he gave me your magazine, Dalit Voice, for further reading. I could not understand why a man of his status (he has written many books) is addicted to God although even Sikhism has failed us.
When Dalit Sikhs are made to leave the langar from certain gurdwara and not allowed entry in gurdwaras and temples, why they go on clinging to Sikhism and pronounce it as the greatest religion of the 21st century?
