GENEVA July 30: I have given my testimony to UN Working Group on Indigenous Populations. It was well received.
We are now accepted as the Dalits – indigenous peoples of India along with the Tribals of India. Prof. Kisku, Presented the paper on tribals.
The Indian govt. as usual denied that India has any indigenous populations. They gave the same statement as last year, using Prof. Andre Battalle’s bullshit.
Please let our brothers and sisters know that this is just a start and we have a long way to go. I am doing lot of meetings with other indigenous groups for understanding on our problems.l am in touch with Rev. Bob Scott of the World Council of Churches. Papers I shall send in two weeks from Canada.
